The history of Tiernahrung Deuerer began in Bretten, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It originated from the restaurant "Zum deutschen Kaiser" ("For the German Emperor"), which was opened in 1954. This was a small family business founded by Elfriede and Helmut Deuerer. Two years later, a small butcher's shop began operating alongside the restaurant. The meat products sold there were so successful that by 1979, a full-fledged factory was established, specializing in the production of sausages and other meat products.

In 1988, the decision was made to expand production by introducing pet food for dogs and cats. This direction proved to be so successful that it eventually became the company's primary focus. In 2001, the company changed its name to Tiernahrung Deuerer (literally "Deuerer's Pet Food"). Today, it produces a wide range of products under various brands. One of the services offered is the production of pet food for third-party clients.
