— the display in a kitchen timer is found only in electronic models and is used for accurately showing the set and remaining time. It is usually a digital LCD screen that displays minutes and seconds. Some displays have backlighting, which is convenient in low light conditions, and can also show additional features: timer modes, clock, countdown or count-up. The screen can be integrated into the housing horizontally or at an angle for easy reading, and the large numbers ensure good visibility from a distance. Unlike a mechanical timer, where time is tracked on a scale, the display makes management more precise and allows for setting non-standard time intervals—such as 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
