Hardtail

On the one hand, the hard tail provides good efficiency on the pedals and a “sense of the road”, on the other hand, it copes bumps very effectively. The disadvantage is the increased weight of the bike (due to the presence of a shock absorber), as well as the fact that for each of the advantages mentioned, such a suspension still loses somewhat to specialized varieties (although some models may provide the possibility of turning into a full-fledged rigid due to the fork lockout). At the same time, the versatility has made the hardtail the most popular option in many types of modern bikes.
