These are simpler and cheaper analogues of silver-oxide cells of the SR series (it is also “three hundredth”, a typical example is size 357, it is also SR44). LR batteries have a relatively low capacity, they are prone to a rapid voltage drop as they are discharged, and they do not handle high load currents well. On the other hand, such cells are noticeably cheaper than silver-oxide ones, and for devices with an even low energy consumption, they are the best option.Specifically, LR58 batteries are one of the most compact in the entire series — 7.9 mm in diameter, 2.1 mm thick. Other options for their marking are AG11, G11 and GP62A, and silver-oxide counterparts are 361 cells (high discharge current) and 362 (low current).
