Basic functions
The "vocation" of the bread maker is, of course, to make fragrant bakery products of high quality. To do this, the device is equipped with a variety of programs. On average, their number varies between 9-12. Preparation of ordinary white bread, rye, dietary, from coarse flour, French rolls, rolls from gluten–free mixture, bread with additives - the possibilities of the device are almost limitless (but you will have to pay extra for some of them). Fans of culinary experiments will like these devices. With a bread maker, you can easily surprise the most discerning gourmets by serving, for example, a loaf with nuts and dried fruits or a Mexican bun with sausages and cheese. However, in order to prepare such masterpieces, the bread maker must be equipped with a dispenser, in other words, a dispenser. But sometimes granular components can be thrown into the working bucket and manually.
One of the most popular functions of the bread maker is kneading yeast and yeast-free dough. Some models are able to do this in different ways. Whichever one you choose, the dough will turn out great. The main condition is not to open the lid of the device, so as not to violate the established temperature regime. Usually, modern models provide an opportunity to choose the degree of "browning" of the crust. It can be light, medium or dark.
Almost all bread makers, with the exception of the most low-cost options, have an accelerated baking mode. Due to the reduction of the total cooking time, it turns out to be more dense than usual. By the way, this mode is perfect for baking ready-made yeast dough.

Baking of confectionery products. With the help of a home mini-bakery, you can please your sweet tooth. The production of confectionery products is a bonus of most models. You can make fluffy cakes, cupcakes, buns with raisins, poppy seeds, chocolate chips and other goodies. Importantly, they will not burn, as the bread maker bakes sweets at a low temperature.
If you are watching your figure and are afraid of extra calories, know that you can easily reduce the calorie content of homemade cakes. Simply replace the premium flour with coarse flour, and sugar with fructose or even berries.
Cooking jams. By the way, about berries. You can make delicious jam from them, again, in a bread maker. Since all models undergo mandatory certification of equipment and non-stick cookware, jam or jam in the oven will never burn. The non-stick coating is resistant to fruit acids. In addition, the technique preserves the vitamins that are contained in berries and fruits, since they are processed in a very gentle way. However, you can cook a little dessert at a time – up to a liter. Therefore, in large-scale conservation for the winter, a bread maker is not your assistant.
Preparation of yogurt. With the help of a bread maker, you can also get several cups of homemade yogurt – a healthy and delicious treat. The function is simply irreplaceable for lovers of fermented milk products. But there is a significant nuance. Usually, models with such a function are unreasonably expensive, so it makes sense to purchase a yogurt maker separately.
The prices of bread makers increase in accordance with the number of their functions. All models can bake bread, but not all devices can make a cake for a holiday or cook jam. You will have to pay for additional functions. Therefore, when purchasing an oven, think about which of the provided features are relevant for you. If, for example, no one in the family likes muffins, there is no need to overpay for programs responsible for baking sweet rolls.
In conclusion, I would like to note this aspect. Whatever functions the purchased model is equipped with, in order to achieve good results, you need to know some of the subtleties or, better to say, the secrets of baking. For example, experimenting with a new recipe, a few minutes after the start of kneading, you need to check the consistency of the dough. Is it dry and crumbling? Then pour some water. Sticky? Add flour. You should not be tempted to add more additional goodies to the dough than provided by the recipe. So you can change the consistency of the dough, and the loaf just won't fit.
