In comparative table you can see the entire list of laptops. Intel Core i3/i5 processors are the best solutions for the job. Their main advantage is stability and optimization for office work.

Also, do not forget about heat dissipation. For comparison, Intel Core i3 and i5 processors (for laptops) have a thermal dissipation (TDP) of 15 to 28 W, and their direct competitors in the AMD Fusion A-series for laptops range from 25 to 65 W. Since laptops in this price segment do not always boast an efficient cooling system, low heat generation is a significant advantage.

Keyboard.
Trackpad.

Lenovo Ideapad 320 15 is an excellent representative of the line in this price category. It has a minimalistic design, more suitable for an office, but at the same time good performance.

The body is made of plastic. It creaks a little, bends in some places, but for its price category it is assembled quite well. The only drawback is soiledness, if you do not wipe it regularly, then it will quickly become covered with prints, especially the lid.

The keyboard is quite comfortable, you don't have to get used to it, and it's convenient to work in the blind. The trackpad is suitable for emergencies, but it is problematic to use it on an ongoing basis.

The screen with a diagonal of 15.6” has a resolution of FullHD (1920x1080 pixels) and is made using TN + film technology. And again, the manufacturer sacrifices the quality of the display for the sake of performance, but the hinge allows you to open the display 180 degrees. The screen can be called mediocre. The picture lacks saturation, and viewing angles are limited. It is great for working with text and surfing the Internet, but for working with graphics it is not the best solution.

It is equipped with an Intel Core i3 6006U processor of the Skylake generation with a clock frequency of 2 GHz, in conjunction with a discrete graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 920MX with 2 GB of GDDR5 video memory. The drive is a 500 GB HDD disk with a spindle speed of 5400 rpm.

Autonomy is acceptable for this segment of 4 - 5 hours when working with text.

Keyboard, cooling system, battery life.
Screen.

Acer laptops have always been known for their excellent build quality and stylish performance, and the Acer Aspire 5 is no exception.

The case is made of high-quality plastic, except for the working surface, which is made of metal. It is assembled quite qualitatively, but the lid flexes even from a slight pressure, which is typical of all laptops in this price segment.

The keyboard has an excellent course, you won't have to get used to it for a long time. There is no backlight, but even in low light the keyboard is readable. The trackpad is responsive and supports, in addition to Windows 10 gestures, the Microsoft Precision Touchpad protocol.

The matrix has a resolution of FullHD (1920x1080 pixels), is made using TN + film technology and displays 41% of the Adobe RGB color gamut and 55% sRGB. The contrast ratio is quite low - 70:1, and the brightness is only 181 nits. Unfortunately, Acer had to sacrifice the display in order to achieve better technical equipment in conjunction with build quality.

Comes with a 2GHz Skylake generation Intel Core i3 6006U processor. The discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce 940MX with 2 GB of GDDR5 video memory is responsible for the video component. 2133MHz DDR4 RAM, 4GB pre-installed, expandable up to 32GB. The cooling system effectively copes with its task: it works quietly, and the processor does not get very hot.

The battery lasts 6-7 hours for office work, and up to 8 hours for video playback.

Battery life, fast charging, topcase (no flex).
Screen.

Some manufacturers in this price segment are trying to create solutions with a huge variety of configurations, so that everyone can find something for themselves. HP 15-bs500 is from this league.

The cooling system of these laptops is quite quiet, but not very efficient, respectively, configurations with Intel Core i5 and i7 processors are recommended to be bypassed.

The best option is a modification with an Intel Core i3 6006U of the Skylake generation with a clock frequency of 2 GHz, in conjunction with a discrete video accelerator AMD Radeon 520 with 2 GB of GDDR3 video memory. Due to the balanced heat dissipation of components, the laptop does not suffer from throttling, and the cooling system, during office work, is almost inaudible.

The amount of RAM is 8 GB DDR4 type and can be expanded up to 16 GB using two slots. The drive is a 1 TB HDD with a spindle speed of 5400 rpm.

The main advantage of this laptop is the case and the keyboard. The case is completely made of matte plastic. It is assembled quite well: the topcase practically does not flex, which is typical mainly for expensive laptops, and the keyboard allows for comfortable touch typing. The keys have a short travel and a clear return. The trackpad, although it accurately responds to touch, cannot be called a reference.

Full HD display (1920x1080 px.), made using SVA technology, and also has an anti-reflective coating. The display brightness is 235 cd/m² and the contrast ratio is 560:1. The color gamut of the matrix covers 55.5% of the Adobe RGB space and 35% of sRGB. Its main drawback is the brightness, it is not sufficient to work in bright sunlight.

From the battery, the laptop can work up to 11 hours, and fast charging technology that allows you to charge it by 90% in 90 minutes will be a nice bonus.

Weight (1.5 kg, the lightest in the selection), design, backlit keyboard.
Battery life.

Before us is a laptop in a thin and light body, almost an ultrabook, but at a very reasonable price. Asus laptops in a particular segment offer some of the best solutions and VivoBook S15 is a direct confirmation of this.

The appearance is more reminiscent of the shape of a solid ultrabook, with smooth lines and low thickness, somewhat reminiscent of the Asus ZenBook line, but without catchy elements. It is made of soft-touch plastic (except for the lid), which looks like aluminium. Also, it boasts excellent weight, only 1.5 kg and small bezels around the display: 25 mm at the bottom, 14 mm at the top and only 8 mm on the sides.

The keyboard is traditional for Asus and has a short but precise stroke. A distinctive feature of the keyboard is the backlight, which is not typical for this class of devices. The trackpad is quite accurate, supports Windows 10 gestures, and you can even refuse to use an additional manipulator.

The laptop is equipped with an IPS matrix with FullHD resolution (1920x1080 pixels) and a pixel density of 141 ppi. The matrix, alas, is the weak point of this laptop. Mediocre viewing angles, saturation and contrast are all explained by the mediocre quality IPS display. The color temperature leans more toward warmer tones, so everything is a little more yellow than it should be. When working on a white background (surfing, documents), this is hardly noticeable and even good - the eyes do not get tired so quickly, but when watching movies it can be noticeable.

The maximum brightness for outdoor work on a sunny day may not be enough, but there is an anti-reflective coating. A nice bonus is the presence of the Splendid application, which allows you to adjust the saturation, temperature, and even turn on the "evening" mode.

It is equipped with Intel Core i3 7100U processors of the Kaby Lake generation with a clock speed of 2.4 GHz, in conjunction with a discrete graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 940MX with 2 GB GDDR5 video memory. The amount of RAM type DDR4 with a frequency of 2133 MHz is 4 GB and can be expanded up to 16 GB. The drive is an HDD disk with a capacity of 1 TB and a spindle speed of 5400 rpm.

Such iron completely satisfies the needs of almost every user. The cooling system is quite noisy, but effective. Throttling can only be felt if you perform resource-intensive processes while running on battery power, otherwise it works quickly and stably.

From the battery Asus VivoBook S15 is able to work up to 4 hours with an average load.

Backlit keyboard, fingerprint scanner.
Integrated video card.

The American company Dell has succeeded quite a lot in creating reliable working "horses" and the Dell Vostro 3568 is a direct confirmation of this.

The design is focused on work in the office - a minimum of pretentious details. The case, made of matte plastic, does not collect fingerprints much, but is somewhat “flimsy”.

The keyboard is typical Dell: there's minimal getting used to it, and the trackpad supports Windows 10 gestures and also has a fingerprint scanner.

The laptop is equipped with an Intel Core i3 6006U Skylake generation processor with a clock frequency of 2 GHz. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 is responsible for the graphics. DDR4 RAM can be expanded up to 16 GB from the pre-installed 4 GB. The storage is a 500 GB HDD. For games and video editing, it is poorly suited, but for comfortable office work and multimedia it is quite.

The screen, with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels, and made using TN + film technology, is perfect for everyday tasks. Viewing angles are typical for matrices of this type, and the anti-reflective coating will allow you to work comfortably on a sunny day. The rejection of FullHD (1920x1080 px.) resolution is more of a plus, given the integrated video card.

The weight of the laptop is only 1.98 kg, and the battery, with an average load, is able to work 5-6 hours - a great solution for students.
