You can pick up and buy radio-controlled cars yourself in the corresponding catalog. And below we will tell you what is important to pay attention to when choosing a device.

Modern radio—controlled cars (RC) are something more than just a toy. Agree, it is very difficult to call a toy, albeit a relatively small, but just filled with real gasoline, a car with an internal combustion engine that rushes in front of you at a speed of about 100 km/h. But in fact, such a "monster" is the tip of the iceberg. The modern market offers a great variety of cars to choose from for almost any "taste and colour": models for circuit racing, SUVs, rally cars, for performing various tricks and others.

Some modern cars even run on gasoline

All existing models can be divided into two large classes: for indoor and outdoor use. The former usually belong to the category of simple toys or hobbies and have an electric motor. As for the second type, these are already sports solutions, often equipped with an internal combustion engine (ICE) and fueled with special fuel or gasoline.

Radio-controlled cars today

The complexity of modern models varies widely. From primitive structures with a minimum of commands (forward-backward), to the most complex mechanisms, not much different from real cars. So, they can be equipped with multi-stage gearboxes, and models with internal combustion engines use miniature brake pads for braking. The suspension of sports cars is distinguished not only by the complexity of the design, but also by reliability, it is able to withstand races in the most difficult conditions.

The user can be satisfied with both the factory model and engage in real tuning. To do this, many manufacturers produce so-called Hop—Up parts that allow improving the characteristics of popular models. For example, you can install a more durable chassis or wheels with a softer filler.

As for the appearance and design of the case, there are three possible directions. A car can be an exact copy or a half-copy of a real-life car or a car from a well-known feature or animated film, as well as from a popular computer game. Most often they are executed on a scale from 1:5 to 1:28 — the first ones are more suitable for the street, while the second ones can be run even on a table.

Recently, R / Y cars are often used by the military. But not for entertainment at all. They are launched into rooms that can be mined. Having run into a mine, the toy will neutralize it in the most elementary way — an explosion will occur.

Also available are R / Y cars with futuristic body shapes, born of the rich imagination of their creators. And finally — racing cars with bodies, the shape of which depends on the type of racing. So, highway models have a low fit and streamlined shapes. Naturally, the models designed for cross-country racing have the appropriate body shape. By the way, cars for drifting usually differ in housings executed with model accuracy.

A variety of devices can be used to control the R / Y models — both resembling the gamepad of a game console and simulating a steering wheel. Professional models use gun-like remotes. 2.4 GHz, 27.40 MHz or 35.49 MHz radio frequencies are used, there is no fundamental difference in this matter. But still here you can give one little piece of advice — if you buy a second machine, it is better if it works on a different frequency, otherwise interference is possible.

There is also a small class of cars, which are controlled by a smartphone or tablet computer. Interaction with the "smart" device and the toy is carried out via the Bluetooth interface.

And finally, the cost. While a simple Chinese creation will cost you less than ten dollars, there are models whose cost is not inferior to the cost of an inexpensive real car. However, both are extremes. Most models usually have price tags from $50 to $200.

To the question of speed

The vast majority of R / Y cars are not able to reach speeds above 10-15 km/h. This is more than enough for games, but if the goal is to arrange a real competition, then it's better to look for faster models. Fortunately, there are creations on the market, the speed of which easily reaches 80 km/h. Moreover, it can be both cars with batteries and with internal combustion engines.

The world record (at the beginning of 2014) belongs to the Bullet car ("Bullet"), equipped with an electric motor and capable of reaching a speed of 302.5 km/h. But in this case, we are not talking about a commercial model, but about the creation of an enthusiast – in narrow circles, Nick Case is well known precisely as the creator of high-speed models that break world records.

In most cases, speed for a P /Y model is not a fundamental quality, even if you plan to professionally engage in sports competitions. It is often better to pay attention to other characteristics and quality of materials.

Everything else

A radio-controlled car can be an excellent gift for both a child or a friend, and for yourself. Moreover, toy manufacturers are not limited exclusively to cars. They produce a wide variety of ground vehicles with R/U. Most often these are tanks. But you can also find construction equipment, trucks, buses, etc. However, the popularity of such products is noticeably lower.

And concluding our story about used cars, it should also be mentioned that it is not necessary to purchase a ready-made solution. Those who want to work with their hands and head can be advised to choose a special constructor and do the assembly themselves. This is a great way to get the most out of not only the management process, but also the assembly process.
