The company has a similar model without a lamp. Ultraviolet light allows for high-quality disinfection of tap water, destroying most of the pathogenic bacteria. Such filters are relevant in areas where the water has a high content of bacteria and a hot climate. When planning to purchase a model with an ultraviolet cleaner, it is worth considering that to power the lamp, you need to connect to the mains. The main highlight of the Leader Standard RO-6 is the water mineralizer included in its design – a special container with a slowly dissolving mixture. It allows you to saturate drinking water with various useful micronutrients in useful, not harmful, quantities (fluorine, potassium, calcium, iron and others). High-quality operation of osmosis systems is ensured by timely replacement of cartridges. There are several such elements in multi-stage filters, and the failure of any of them will not only negatively affect the quality of purified water, but may also cause incorrect operation of other components. Each model has its own targets, which can be found out from their descriptions. The "perishable" element is prefilter cartridges, which collect most particles and bacteria. Depending on the water quality, they need to be changed within 3 to 6 months. Otherwise, the reverse osmosis membrane may be damaged – it is vulnerable to chlorine, iron, etc. The most important and expensive replacement module is the membrane. It lasts longer than the other components, and it should be changed in the filters described in the article once a year. The bioceramic module and the UV lamp are replaced with approximately the same frequency. The mineralizer unit changes on average once a year. Of course, replacement can occur more often in order to saturate the liquid with minerals, but it is not recommended to change this component more often than once every six months. The carbon postfilter needs to be changed after about six months of use. It is not necessary to delay its replacement, as this will reduce the quality of the water.
