We independently test the products and technologies that we recommend.

A comparison of the models from the review is given in the summary table of recorders with voice control. You can independently choose a video recorder in the corresponding section of the catalog. We also recommend the article "How an expensive video recorder differs from a cheap one".

The miniature cylindrical video recorder 70mai Dash Cam 3 M200 is secretly installed in the car and does not block the driver's view. At the same time, the model records high-quality video during daylight hours and produces good results in the dark.
The device has a screenless design, as a result of which access to its settings is provided through the 70mai mobile application. The smartphone connects to the model via a wireless Wi-Fi network. The recorder also understands simple voice control commands such as "Take photo" or "Lock the video". It is necessary to conduct a dialogue with it in English.
The 2-megapixel Sony STARVIS 2 IMX662 matrix is responsible for forming the image from the car recorder camera. Shooting is carried out in the maximum resolution of Full HD (1920x1080 pixels) at 30 fps, and the camera "looks" at the road through a lens with a viewing angle of about 130 °. The frame fits 2 - 3 lanes of the road together with sidewalks and shoulders.
The 70mai Dash Cam 3 M200 is equipped with a built-in G-sensor, which is used to record impacts and protect video files from being overwritten during accidents. The model supports microSD cards with a capacity of up to 128 GB. Finally, the recorder is powered from the cigarette lighter via a microUSB connector. The backup power of the device is provided by a 300 mAh battery. The video recorder turned out to be compact, inexpensive and quite suitable for everyday trips by car.

The compact Hikvision AE-DC5013-F6 "cube" is discreetly installed inside the car's windshield and provides high-quality recording of what is happening on the roads.
The model operates in single-channel mode, i.e. shooting is carried out only in the frontal plane. Video is recorded in a resolution of up to 2560x1600 pixels at 25/30 fps. The picture is complemented by high-aperture optics with an aperture of f/1.6. The only complaint about the lens is the diagonal field of view of about 130°, which is somewhat narrower compared to similar models.
The recorder mount is fixed to the windshield using an adhesive platform, and power is supplied directly to it from the cigarette lighter socket. The power supply to the "small box" is supplied directly through the mount. The model is devoid of any screen, so it is assumed that it is interacted with using voice commands or from a connected smartphone (via Wi-Fi).
The GPS module on board the recorder is responsible for linking the coordinates and speed of the car to the video sequence. In addition, the device has integrated road assistants that monitor lane keeping (LDWS) and control the safe distance (FCWS). Separately, you will need to get a microSD card for storing videos - drives with a capacity of up to 128 GB are suitable for this task.

VIOFO A119 Mini 2 is an advanced level video recorder that provides high-quality recording day and night.
The model has a Sony STARVIS IMX335 image sensor, and the Novatek NTK96580 processor is responsible for video processing. The recorder records accelerated Full HD (at 60 fps), the maximum shooting resolution is 2560x1440 pixels at 30 fps. The HDR function evens out the exposure of the frame in the light of oncoming headlights and when entering/exiting from under overpasses.
The device is attached to the inner surface of the windshield using an adhesive base. Power is supplied to it from the car cigarette lighter and via a USB type C connector. The model has a one and a half inch screen for access to settings and viewing recorded videos on the spot. The recorder also has wireless Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communications.
The built-in GPS module is used to record the coordinates of the car and link the speed of movement to the video sequence. And in order not to be distracted from driving the vehicle, the model supports basic voice control commands. As a bonus, the video recorder includes a durable supercapacitor that is resistant to temperature fluctuations. The capacity of the ionister is enough to save the last recorded video and correctly turn off the device; autonomous operation is not provided by it.

The futuristic 70mai X200 Omni model in the form and likeness of a large pill stands out strikingly against the background of other video recorders. The device received a capsule design for a reason - the glossy lower half of its body is a motorized lens with a 360° view.
The lens turns automatically via voice commands (for example, “Shoot left” or “Shoot right”), or manually, depending on specific needs. In general , the model recognizes over 10 voice commands, which must be spoken in English(“Take photo”, “Take selfie”, “Shoot vlog”, etc.). Access to the recorder settings and recorded videos can be obtained through the 70mai mobile application for the smartphone. The Wi-Fi module is used to pair the device with a mobile phone.
The model's camera records video in Full HD resolution at 60 fps. The DVR supports WDR and HDR extended dynamic range technologies, and has an Omni Night Vision night recording mode. Video footage is supposed to be stored in the built-in 32 GB storage memory. If this seems insufficient, there are versions of the device with 64 GB and 128 GB memory on the market.
The capsule body of the 70mai X200 Omni has room for a GPS module that records coordinates and speed. The model also has built-in LDWS and FCWS road assistants - the first one controls the lane, and the second one monitors the safe distance. Optionally, the recorder can be equipped with an LTE modem for viewing video from a smartphone online.

In the video recorder caste, the products of the American brand Garmin consistently occupy the top lines of the podium. The best example of this is the Dash Cam 57 model.
The device's body layout resembles an action camera - it has a rectangular shape with a protruding Garmin Clarity HDR lens, which provides a viewing angle of about 140°. Video recording on the recorder is possible in a resolution of up to Quad HD - 2560x1440 pixels at 30 fps. A clear picture with good readability of license plates is provided both in the daytime and in poor ambient light conditions.
The GPS module records where certain road events took place. Based on the data from it, the coordinates of the car's location are determined along with the speed of movement. And according to the pre-loaded database, the video recorder warns the driver about police cameras and radars(the function does not work in all regions). Road assistants on board the model monitor compliance with the lane and distance, give the command "Forward" when stopped traffic resumes, etc.
Garmin Dash Cam 57 supports an active connection with a smartphone to view recorded videos and remotely access the camera in Live View mode. Also, via the Garmin Drive application, you can automatically upload video materials to the "cloud". Finally, the model has prepared a convenient voice control for saving video, starting / stopping recording, and quickly taking photos. The device understands commands in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Swedish.
