The Zelmer ZCG7925 coffee grinder uses a burr system that allows precise grind size adjustment — 15 levels. The discs are made of steel, have high durability, and easily handle both dark and light roast coffee. The user gets the optimal consistency of different bean varieties for the proper flavor release. The adjustment is made with a rotary knob directly in the loading compartment, which holds about 100 g of whole beans. The device can go beyond its standard purpose and be used for grinding nuts, herbs, and some spices.

The manufacturer has taken care of small details that enhance user comfort. The feet are equipped with rubber anti-slip pads. The 120 W motor performs well, and activation is as simple as holding the button, adjusting the amount of processed coffee. The compartment for the finished product holds up to 100 g, enough for a large company. It is easily removable for cleaning under running water. The body is made of quality plastic and has a compartment for cord storage. In case of overheating, the equipment automatically shuts off, protecting the motor from damage, so pauses are recommended. The simplicity of use and affordable price make the model suitable for home use. The warranty period is 2 years.

Relatively low price, compact design, economical electric motor, long continuous operation time, 17 grind levels, ground coffee quantity dispenser (cups), 2 design modifications.

Disc-type grinding block.

Despite the quite affordable price of the Melitta Molino coffee grinder, the manufacturer classifies it as professional equipment intended as an addition to the hardware of cafeterias. There are no complaints about the design and dimensions of the model. The device is very compact due to the absence of a tower for loading coffee beans, which usually tops a coffee grinder. The loading hopper is located directly in the body of the device and holds about 200 g of roasted beans. It is covered with a transparent plastic lid on top. Below is a removable container for ground beans, also made of transparent plastic.

The device is equipped with an economical 100 W electric motor capable of operating continuously for up to 5 minutes. However, after such an intensive mode of operation, it needs to cool down for about 30 minutes. The optimal operating conditions for the coffee grinder are a uniform load/rest combination of 90/90 seconds. On the front panel, there is a rotary knob for setting the coffee grinding time, determining the powder output for a certain number of cups (from 2 to 14). And on the left side, there is a wheel for adjusting 17 grind levels for espresso 1 – 3, filtered coffee 2 – 13, and French press 12 – 17. The small grinding block slightly disappointed: it does not contain the traditional pair of conical burrs but is equipped with a semblance of a disc mechanism that crushes and grinds the beans. Due to the low quality of fine grinding, the device did not meet expectations when used with espresso machines and is recommended for fans of filtered coffee.

The model is designed for automatic operation after pressing the start button and stops grinding beans after fulfilling the set conditions. Thanks to the thoughtful design, most components are easily removable, facilitating maintenance and cleaning of the device. The coffee grinder is made in a black plastic body and is available in 2 modifications, differing only by the presence of a red ring around the steel dispenser disc in one of them. The manufacturer has set a 5-year service life for the device and provides a 2-year international warranty.

Burr grinding system, illuminated "Start" button, flexible grind size and portion adjustment, high build quality, attractive design.

Smudge-prone body.

De'Longhi KG 89 is a representative of the burr coffee grinder family, where coffee beans are ground using two metal discs. Their use allows for fine grind size adjustment and ensures a high uniform structure of ground coffee.

The black glossy body of the coffee grinder has a rectangular form factor. The bean container and the ground coffee collection container are designed in the same angular style. If any of these elements are not installed in their designated place (or not fully installed), the device will not start. However, it is quite difficult to install them incorrectly, as the protection is intended for cases when the container is simply forgotten to be put back in place.

Two round mechanical regulators are intended to break up the straight angles in the overall design of the coffee grinder: the knob on the front panel is responsible for selecting the number of portions (from 2 to 12 cups), and the wheel on the left side allows setting the grind size — from fine to coarse. Turning the latter handle is accompanied by noticeable effort, as this is how the distance between the burrs is changed.

Working with the coffee grinder is as simple as can be — the user only needs to pour coffee beans into the container and press the "Start" button. Missing it is impossible even at night, as the button is equipped with blue backlighting. Beans can be stored directly in the container — the top lid protects them from moisture and helps preserve their aroma longer.

The bottom of the model has a compartment for winding the power cord, which helps avoid wire clutter on the work surface. In addition to all this, De'Longhi KG 89 boasts high build quality. Considering its attractive appearance and convenient control of all coffee grinder functions, using it provides exclusively positive impressions.

31 grind adjustments, dispenser for up to 10 cups, adjustable timer up to 25 seconds, button control panel with display.

No significant drawbacks identified.

The Adler brand burr coffee grinder was introduced in 2022 and is capable of attracting even demanding users. It offers as many as 31 grind adjustment levels specifically for them. For example, the first two positions (1 and 2) are suitable for Turkish coffee (ground "to dust"), from 3 to 5 — for espresso, from 11 to 19 — for filter coffee, and most other settings — for alternative methods of preparing the invigorating drink.

In the Adler AD 4450, a sufficiently powerful motor (300 W) is used, which "produces" from 44 to 75 grams of ground coffee in 25 seconds (depending on the grind settings). The decent performance (by home model standards) is confirmed by the readiness for 5 similar cycles in a row. And if something goes wrong, the overheat protection will activate.

The coffee maker boasts a spacious bean compartment (300 grams) with a hermetic lid and a practical, easily removable ground coffee cup. By the way, until these containers are properly fixed on the body, the device will not start working.

For interaction with the model, a small display with buttons is offered. With their help, the dosage (from one to 10 cups) is conveniently set, and the timer is adjusted in the range from 1 to 25 seconds. So, if the default cup dosage does not suit you, it is easy to find out through experience how much time is needed for the optimal portion for you.

Together with reliable metal burrs, the Adler AD 4450 is ready to offer truly flexible settings for almost any home coffee lover's needs.

Excellent at grinding beans, burr grinding system, illuminated "Start" button, flexible grind size and portion adjustment, high build quality.
Beans occasionally get stuck during grinding, ground coffee spills when removing the lower container, no compartment for the power cord.

The German brand Krups has made a name for itself in the production of coffee machines and coffee makers. For loading them with freshly ground coffee, several good coffee grinders are presented in its product line, one of which is the burr-type model Krups GVX2.

The model is enclosed in a high-quality plastic body, featuring two removable transparent containers: the upper container is intended for loading coffee beans with a total weight of up to 200 g, and the lower container serves as a storage container for ground coffee. It holds up to 125 g of ready-to-use mixture.

The handle on the right side of the device allows adjusting the degree of bean grinding — the user has a choice of 17 grind levels. A mechanical dispenser on the front panel of the coffee grinder allows selecting the required amount of coffee (from 2 to 12 cups). The consumption of coarsely ground coffee per cup is about 12 g, medium — 10 g, and fine — 7 g.

Many coffee grinder owners point out several design flaws in the model. Firstly, when removing the container with the ready mixture, some ground coffee inevitably spills onto the table (from the coffee delivery hole from the burrs). Secondly, the German engineers somehow did not provide a place for storing the power cord. Finally, thirdly, when the upper container is fully loaded, coffee beans sometimes get stuck in front of the burrs, which is remedied by a slight shaking of the coffee grinder body.

The minor flaws do not affect the quality of coffee grinding — Krups GVX2 handles its main duties better than anything. It easily and quickly grinds beans to the required grind size depending on where the coffee is planned to be brewed: in a drip or portafilter coffee maker, or in a Turkish coffee pot.
