An excellent tool for those who already have spinal issues. For those who are unfamiliar with back pain, manual splitting may be sufficient.
1) High frame - no need to bend down every time to reach the start button, or to build an additional stand to lift the log splitter to the desired height to avoid bending over while splitting logs.
2) Power is sufficient for logs with an average diameter, and power surges are practically unnoticeable for a country house's power supply.
3) Since the log splitter doesn't come with an additional attachment for splitting logs into 4 pieces, be sure to purchase one; an attachment from the TEXAS 520H(550H) log splitter is compatible.
4) Use a garden hand cart to transport split logs to the log splitter; place the cart with logs on the side of the start button. All your movements will be - turn to the cart, grab a log without bending to the ground and place it on the frame close to the splitting attachment, reach for the button and lever. After splitting the log into 4 pieces (as a rule, the logs remain on the frame), throw the pieces to the intended woodpile area.
5) If the logs get stuck in the attachment, don't rush to knock them out with a hammer or another log. Instead, prepare a short log in advance; when the carriage returns, insert this log at the carriage and push the stuck logs out with another carriage motion.
6) You can split 1 cubic meter of logs, along with cutting them into short logs with a chainsaw, in 3-4 hours. During this time, you won't feel exhausted compared to splitting wood manually.
