Why is the new processor faster at the same frequency? The main factors that make new processes faster without increasing clock speeds

How to choose a CPU?How to choose the right CPU for any task, from spreadsheets to modern games and work applications
I put together a computer for the summer house. Since the main tasks were checking emails, browsing the internet, and watching movies, and I was also on a tight budget, I decided to get this processor, the Sempron 140. I've been using it for half a year now. It runs stably. I haven't seen the CPU load reach 100 percent. It's very good despite being single-core. But actually, it's dual-core; just one core is locked. For those who want to unlock it, there are many articles online. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I want to try overclocking and enabling the second core in the coming days. I'll let you know how it goes. I understand that enabling the second core and overclocking the frequency from 2.7 GHz can at least double it. So, with a good graphics card, you can even play games. So, for that price, it's just an excellent processor. You won't regret getting it for such a price. great price, stable single-core working CPU. the package includes a rather noisy cooler. ![]() |
I built a work computer for myself to handle regular everyday tasks (email, internet) because I'm tired of sitting at work. I think for those who need a standard processor, this is just right. I got an AMD Sempron 140. As for the cooler, there's nothing much to say, it's regular but loud enough in my opinion; I think they could have put a better one in the box. I tried overclocking it. Stable performance came at a frequency of 3847 MHz. Based on this data, I can say that the increase was only 28 percent, which isn't all that much. I came across an article online that described how to unlock another core. I tried it, and indeed, the processor's power doubled. I can say one thing, now you can even play games on it comfortably, of course with a good video card. I have a GeForce 9600GT 512Mb with passive cooling. So for the money, it's just a great processor. good budget option, 3-year warranty, built-in memory controller in the processor (DDR2 and DDR3), superb overclocking potential quite noisy but within the norm, limited to max. memory frequency of 1333 MHz, although there are options available with 1600 MHz. ![]() |
I couldn’t decide on a processor for a long time because I couldn't determine how many cores I needed for my system: two, three, or four. I almost didn't consider single-core processors since their price isn't much different from budget dual-core models. However, the AMD Sempron processor caught my interest because it is made from crystals intended for dual-core processors by blocking one of the cores. This meant there was an opportunity to unlock the second core, which I successfully did. I am very satisfied with the processor. Thanks to the integrated memory controller, the AMD Sempron processor can be installed in motherboards with both Socket AM3 and Socket AM2+ slots. The box cooling system uses a very simple aluminum cooler with an FHSA7015S-1087 fan, and the height of the aluminum radiator is only 19 mm. Good speed of the AMD Sempron processor fully justifies its price. There is a big possibility to unlock the second core, small heatsink, very energy-efficient. Easy to use. Cut-down memory controller, the cooler is a bit noisy, no IDE connector, had to buy a SATA drive. use AMD Sempron month or more |
