A 2022 debut from the ECG brand, this is one of the most affordable burr grinders on the market. The manufacturer positions the model as a portable solution that is suitable for travel. So, the ECG KM 150 Minimo is really compact (185x74x74 mm) and not heavy (400 grams), and also runs on a 1250 mAh lithium-polymer battery. It charges via USB-C (cable included): a full charge cycle lasts about 1.5 hours.

Another feature of the coffee grinder is a collapsible design. Removable here is not only a bowl, but also a compartment for grains, which is designed to increase ease of use and simplify the cleaning procedure (a special brush is also included).

Conical burrs with grinding adjustment

Grinding of grains is performed by conical millstones made of ceramics. Unlike metal, they work quieter (up to 65 dB) and with less heat (which has a positive effect on the aroma and taste of the drink), but they are not so durable. It is necessary to carefully monitor that foreign objects do not fall into the compartment.

Users can adjust the degree of grinding. So, for a smaller fraction, you need to turn the mechanical indicator (located at the bottom of the core) clockwise, and for a larger one - against. It is stated that the model is suitable for various purposes, including preparing espresso in a carob coffee maker, making filter coffee, working with a French press. At the same time, a relatively small power (13 W) compensates for the pulsed mode, which also protects the device from overheating.

The bean compartment holds only 25 grams, so on average every 3 cups of coffee will need to be replenished. For a bachelor-coffee lover, this is not critical, but for a family, or even more so for receiving guests, it is less convenient. But for the money, the ECG KM 150 Minimo is a very interesting millstone model.
