I bought this model for home because it can work with both beans and pre-ground coffee. I prefer espresso made from dark roast beans, while my wife, having read some articles, believes that "caffeine is evil." However, since she doesn't want to give up her favorite taste, she buys special decaffeinated ground coffee. This wonderful machine has been working at our home for about a year, and we have often found that it is capable of making an excellent drink from any decent coffee. The name Gaggia is already a guarantee of quality, as this Italian company has been producing coffee-making equipment for almost eighty years (!). In my opinion, this particular model is an excellent machine for a home kitchen. It is relatively small and easy to maintain. The 1.2-liter water capacity and 200 grams of coffee loading are enough for my wife and me for 5-6 days, or even a week, as we use small Italian cups for two or three sips. The electronic control makes the brewing process remarkably simple – just one press of the "espresso" button and in three or four minutes a cup of excellent coffee is ready. The electronics also allow you to adjust the amount of ground coffee per serving and the volume of water used for brewing. So if desired, you can make not only espresso but also ristretto. It is made of stainless steel and high-quality ABS plastic. The assembly is flawless, clearly Italian-made. The manufacturer provides a full two-year warranty. The only significant disadvantage of this model is its price. Well, you can also add a lot of noise during the grinding of grains to the disadvantages, but these are already nit-picking. |
