well, it plays well, but not without problems. if you have a budget of no more than 3.5k, and you need multifunctionality, then the option is not bad (although I haven’t used anything other than the dual shock 3, maybe there are more interesting offers). if you have the money, then take something more famous. bluetooth adapter in the gamepad itself, I didn’t have to buy anything else, fits well in my hand, price i've been using it for less than a month, but actively, and the triggers have already started to "squeak," the bumpers click loudly. It's absolutely necessary to install new firmware and set up dead zones on the PC itself, otherwise, it will be impossible to play normally. At some point, the layout suddenly changed to be like a switch, and it got fixed somehow by just turning it on and off until it worked properly. |
There is a gyroscope, 4 operating modes. But the gyroscope is only for Nintendo mode. You can connect it via bluetooth, but for me only 1 out of 3 devices connected completely to betterjoy and there were no problems - on a laptop. On a stationary PC or via xinput via cable/bluetooth/radio transmitter, but without a gyroscope. I tried both with the whistle dongle version 5 and through the pci expansion slot bluetooth version 4.2. Those. it is defined as a pro controller, but for some reason every now and then the gyroscope and l2 r2 do not work, or the left stick works but is 2 times weaker and the right stick is pressed to the right. Some kind of bug in the software seems to me, because on a laptop with built-in bluetooth everything works fine with the gyro in yuzu and in cemu through the same betterjoy. - nintendo mode with gyroscope - good sticks without dead zones - comfortable shape - magnetic buttons, can be switched to Nintendo or Xbox. Or purchase additional magnetic buttons for a PS variant - good materials and build quality - l2 r2 triggers with depth (pressure sensitivity) - 3 connection methods (Bluetooth, radio transmitter, and via cable) - the best solution if a gyroscope on PC is not crucial for you and you like a strict style (on the Switch, naturally, the joy does gyro and everything else perfectly) - a full charge lasted 9 hours, and it still wasn't completely drained - there's a holder and radio receiver, everything fits on the joy, convenient and unobtrusive, utilitarian - button backlight is adjustable in 3 modes, but there is no mode without backlight ![]() |
Considering another Chinese controller at the price of DualShock, one may wonder who needs it and why? For example, this is exactly the question that GameSir's G4 Pro gamepad, which promises a top level of control on any gaming platform, from Windows-based PCs to PS4 consoles, Nintendo Switch and Android smartphones, caused us to ask such a question. Multi-platform joysticks are not new to anyone, but such a list of support is in itself a small bid for success. Well, additional optimism was given by the fact that we could not find any negative reviews or reviews about it. Usually either praise or admire.
Top in all indicators
The shape of the GameSir G4 Pro is similar to the Xbox 360 manipulator, but with a smartphone mount and additional buttons. The case is made of pleasant and durable plastic with a non-slip matte finish. Rubber inserts are glued on the sides for additional tenacity. The sticks are also rubberized. In general, the case does not slip in the hands, even if the gamer is sweating while trying to defeat the Valkyrie Queen in God of War 2018. I also liked the design of the G4 Pro — the gamepad perfectly balances on the verge of minimalism and pretentiousness, resembling Razer tournament controllers rather than numerous multi-coloured gamepads from China. The same can be said about the high quality of workmanship, there is no smell of “Chinese” here — the triggers and bumpers work clearly even when pressed from the edge, the sticks are perfectly calibrated and respond to pressing without the slightest delay or inaccuracy. Moreover, both on the PC and on the smartphone.
Decent equipment
At the same time, the G4 Pro outperforms competitors in terms of equipment and additional features. The main buttons here are interchangeable — all 4 are attached to the gamepad using magnets. This allows the user to mimic both the Xbox layout and the Nintendo Switch button layout. In the centre is a retractable smartphone mount, which does not stand out from the general view. There is a forced reset button on the rear panel in case of connection problems. The HOME button, in combination with other keys, helps you connect to a specific device. For example, when you press X + HOME, the backlight turns green, and the gamepad connects to the PC in X-Input mode. Press B + HOME, the backlight turns pink, and G4 Pro enters iOS connection mode.
