Hoco S15 is a relatively inexpensive and functional wireless bluetooth headset that stands out for its unusual design. I bought these, put them on, and was shocked by the volume of the system alerts—they must have been made for the hearing impaired. I'm 44 years old, work in a noisy environment, and I'm starting to fall into the hearing impaired category myself, but to have something so loud blasting into my ear... What really annoyed me was when I was listening to soft music and at 20% battery, the headphone starts yelling about low battery. The second time, it began warning at 40% for some reason, and the third time again at 20%. When listening to audiobooks with speech and soft background music, it wasn't great either. Lowering the phone volume made the speech comfortably audible, but in the gaps between speech, the music disappeared, as if some filter was cutting off the quiet sounds. The music would reappear when speech resumed. To avoid hearing this effect, I increased the volume. But the worst is the complete loss of sound; when I heard that, it reminded me of the days of cassette and reel-to-reel tape recorders when the tape got tangled. It starts stuttering and periodically results in complete silence for half a second. When watching videos, I have to rewind. This effect recurs several times a minute, and it can be very frustrating. After 10 days, I exchanged them for another pair, but they had the same connection issues, though the system sounds were quieter. Tested on several phones: ZTE Blade V10, Honor 7A, Asus, and Redmi. Relatively convenient to put on, there is no plastic retainer, but they also jump out. Perfect to drive. You can hear it well, but stuttering can be attributed to a bad connection). Good bass. Charges twice as long as stated in the specifications. |
