The camera had to be bought to replace the stupidly broken D5200. I was aware that 5300 is the sister of the "deceased". Actually, I counted on this, it was necessary to use two orphaned lenses. Externally, the D5300 is a complete copy of its predecessor. Very compact (for a DSLR) and light. The case is plastic, rough-embossed, pleasant to the hand. The body shape is the same, ergonomic and comfortable.
Autofocus is quite fast, but in Live View mode it traditionally works three times slower. In general, this mode remained the same slow as in the D5200, which is rather strange, because the processor in the D5300 was installed with a new, more productive one. But the D5300 determines the automatic exposure more accurately than the old model. There are noticeably fewer misses, apparently the developers have improved the algorithms. Shots shot in the right lighting are still flawless, detailed, and convey the color gamut well. There is little noise, noticeable noises appear only at 3200 and above. One of the main innovations is the ability to shoot progressive 1080p video with a frame rate of 50. Cool, looks good, I will use it. Appeared wi-fi and gps. But more about them below. The battery has become more capacious compared to the D5200. Without a flash, you can shoot for a very long time))) When recording video, the built-in microphone picks up both the sound of focusing and clicks of keystrokes on the case.
