Moderately large 4K TV, which allows you to offer the audience a wide range of entertainment options. The “facade” of the model is headed by a 58-inch diagonal screen on an IPS-matrix substrate with 10-bit colour depth. What does it give in fact? At a minimum, support for displaying over 1 billion shades of colour. In general, the Philips 58PUS7555 display shows a picture at a maximum resolution of 3840x2160 pixels, works with content in HDR10 + and Dolby Vision, is notable for wide vertical and horizontal viewing angles (178 ° in all planes).

The SAPHI Smart Shell provides viewer access to online content sources and the App Gallery. The main thing is to connect the TV to the global network via the LAN connector or via Wi-Fi. Third-party video signal sources communicate with the model via HDMI (3 pcs.) and USB (2 pcs.). Additional assets of the TV include 2 x 10 W stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound. The TV panel has mounting compatibility with VESA standard mounts in the dimension of 300x200 mm.

    great model, love it

addition to my previous review: After the December 2020 software update for this TV, the Youtube app, when the TV is connected via Wifi, now plays every time (previously it was intermittent). You can find out if Dolby Vision content (the second HDR option available on this TV) is playing by the appearance of the corresponding label when starting a video and by the presence of the "Picture Style" settings - "Dolby Vision Bright" and "Dolby Vision Dark". Youtube through the corresponding app (as well as other applications) can be watched with "Natural Motion" smoothing and all other TV settings (full compatibility with TV features). When watching videos from a flash drive or over the network (DLNA), a "smoke" effect is noticeable on the video when objects move (they are followed by a silhouette), or it can be described as an "object floating across the screen" (a wave-silhouette of the object is seen during movement). But this is not always visible and you can get used to this noise, but it cannot be removed - it is apparently a shortcoming due to the method of video signal processing by the TV itself, because if you connect the TV to a PC, then video from the computer (and probably any other device) will not have such a "smoke-wave" effect. Another positive is the built-in browser, but it is very slow (enough for searching information, but unlikely for videos) and lacks ad-blocking functions. Another plus is the presence of Megogo, Netflix, and other platform applications. Use DLNA via cable (not everything is readable via Wifi).

Overall, I’m incredibly pleased with the TV; for the price, for me, it’s top and bottom.
     9 November 2020
Through WiFi via DLNA, multimedia content up to 4K HDR can be transmitted (from any PC), but keep in mind that if the bitrate of the movie is around 69 Mbps, for example, Total Recall (2012), viewing will have pauses of several seconds every half a minute to a minute, even if the movie is played from an SSD and with a nearby WiFi connection - up to 10 meters - with the option to choose audio tracks and subtitle language. Remember - much depends on the video source and the TV settings (a review of it is available on ultrahd-su, where the best picture settings are provided). Be sure to purchase an HDMI 2.0b or newer. Natural Motion (reduces blur of fast-moving objects) works great, but in the "maximum" setting, a very short but noticeable frame drop (stutter) occurs every 5 seconds, but then everything is fine again (this is with 4K HDR video, and I did not notice it at lower quality), but considering how dynamic scenes are transformed - it is forgivable. An alternative option is to use SVP in Potplayer by 7sh3, Smooth Motion in MadVR, or True Motion in Cyberlink PowerDVD. In the graphics card settings, set YCbCr 4:2:0 8bpc/12bpc and watch 4K HDR movies through Cyberlink PowerDVD. Also, part of the image settings will not be available (they will not be visible) when watching from a PC if the TV does not recognize it as fully compatible. This can be determined by the ability to select options in the "Settings" - "Picture Style" menu (if it says "not available in this mode" - then full compatibility is not present).
    + Price (considering the benefits)
+ Anti-glare filter (comfortable TV viewing in a well-lit room)
+ Impressive (for me) picture quality - natural colors, sharpness, and detail, thanks to the P5 processor (available in Philips budget models only since 2020), even low-quality video (with resolution lower than 4K) in 4K mode on this TV looks better than on my LG D2342P monitor. HDR effect (in corresponding video) is expressive and for me (a not demanding user, as I have nothing to compare the picture to) I need nothing more (colors, dark and bright areas create an immersion like in a real cinema). If the video resolution is lower than 4K, it is automatically processed and gets a more quality appearance (the film Cloverfield Paradox with a resolution of 1024x426 and a minimal bitrate of 1.86 Mbps looked like in a theater - good detail, sharpness and colors, it looks significantly better than the same film on cheap monitors/TVs).
+ "Natural Motion" video smoothing (frame interpolation) is possible via the TV itself - at the "Maximum" setting, there is no blurring of fast-moving objects (even at 4K), but with some lag (read the comment).
+ Support for modern video and audio formats
    + DLNA support
    + Built-in TV settings guide
+ Pixels could only be seen when standing very close to the TV (20-30 cm) - this is cool considering the diagonal size
    - The menu is inconvenient in places, as you can't drop from top to bottom by pressing "up" everywhere, and HDR settings are unavailable (not even visible as options) until the TV is connected to the corresponding mode - because of this, you won't immediately understand that these settings are there, just not active.
    - Limited functionality of the operating system (it's not Android), but this is not critical for me, as I connect this TV to a PC.
    - The Youtube app works intermittently (I never understood why - internet speed and signal quality were always sufficient), but it works quickly and is convenient, playing 4K content without issues.
    - There are no analog (RCA) audio inputs (there is an SPDIF digital one, but my 5.1 system doesn't have such an output).
    - The viewing angles of the VA panel are small (unlike IPS) - similar to my LG D2342P monitor with a TN panel. But thanks to the VA panel (in my case with Philips 50PUS7555/50PUS7505), the black color has a wider range (good black level) - dark areas will really be dark (black).
