The vacuum cleaner of the Dutch manufacturer Philips, representing the line of SmartPro robots, is made in a rounded shape, unlike its sister model, the SmartPro Easy FC 8792. But both models have a small body thickness (up to 6 cm).
Practical attachment
Philips SmartPro Compact FC 8774 is equipped with the TriActive XL cleaning system. Its main features include an increased debris capture width, which is almost equal to the diameter of the body (about 30 cm). There are also three suction holes (central and 2 side) and an additional flexible rubber strip-scraper to hold dirt and direct it to the dust collector. The capacity of the latter is 0.3 liters, and a special indicator will warn about its filling.
4 dry cleaning modes
The robot supports 4 programs (exclusively dry cleaning). For work throughout the apartment, the Z-mode is suitable, in which the device performs zigzag movements, and an arbitrary mode with chaotic movements (in a straight line and crosswise). A separate programme is also available for spot cleaning and dust removal near walls.
Thanks to the presence of two pairs of wheels, the Philips SmartPro Compact FC 8774 is able to climb onto thresholds 1.8 cm high. So, carpets will not become an insurmountable obstacle for the model, although the robot is not designed to clean them: the manufacturer declares the use with any hard floor coverings.
Battery life and ease of use
The vacuum cleaner received a Smart Detection system, which is represented by a set of sensors responsible for independent navigation. Among them there is an obstacle sensor and recognition of height differences. From the built-in battery, the model works up to 130 minutes, and it takes 4 hours to charge. The return to the docking station is automatic.
The included remote control allows you to control the robot. From it it is easy to set various operating modes, manually direct the device to the place of cleaning, set the timer for 35 minutes or activate the inclusion every 24 hours. At the same time, there is no full-fledged scheduled cleaning with the ability to specify days and/or time frames.
Philips SmartPro Compact FC 8774 is a robot offered by a well-known manufacturer with basic functionality, but everything you need to clean hard floors. On the market, in addition to the black and blue version, there is also a black and gold model FC 8776.
