Model overview based on user reviews
The Pro-Ject Elemental turntable is praised for its affordable price and good sound quality. However, users have noted some drawbacks, including vibration from the motor that is transmitted through the chassis, which can be heard during pauses. The absence of anti-skate and speed adjustment is also mentioned, although the latter is considered a characteristic of Pro-Ject models. Additionally, users report a loud click in the speakers when the motor starts, which can sometimes trigger the amplifier's overload protection. The design makes it easy to accidentally dislodge the bezel when changing records, which is inconvenient to reattach. While the turntable offers a simple configuration, some users suggest considering the Pro-Ject T1 model or being prepared to make modifications, such as adding motor vibration isolation and anti-skate, for improved performance.
Pros
Cons
The manufacturer tried to make the most out of the simplest configuration. Many aspects didn't satisfy me (see shortcomings), so I reminisced about my youth and decided to "perfect" it. I added motor vibration isolation, anti-skate, and separated the outputs' disconnection from the power. If you're interested in tinkering with improvements, this is for you. Price, good sound. Vibration from the motor is transmitted through the chassis to the disk and head, during pauses you can hear it quite well, there is no anti-skate. There is no adjustment of the rotation speed (however, in my opinion, a proprietary feature of pro-jects, it looks like the motor is a stepper or rather synchronous). When you start the motor (turn on the power), it is supplied to the preamplifier and a loud click is heard in the speakers, sometimes turning off the amplifier (overload protection). When changing the record, it is easy to hit the bezel, which falls off. Putting it back on is not very convenient. |
