Suitable for occasional household work. Doesn't take up much space - compact. Beautiful design, lightweight, low noise, backlight, speed control, soft start from a button on the handle, quick-release fastening. Strong upward air flow. I cut out a window in the door (the door was lying on stools), the flow of air caused sawdust to fly into my eyes very strongly, even with glasses it got into my eyes, but the position of my head when sawing was mainly from above and the air hit me right in my face along with the sawdust. I haven't tried it with a vacuum cleaner. Although few people connect it for a short operating time. Before that I used a Russian one for 15 years (I don’t remember the name). A good replacement for "famous" brands
The Ryobi RJS 1050 K jigsaw has a pendulum pump and a high-speed 680-watt motor that provides a high frequency of sawing strokes (up to 3100 strokes / min), which is necessary for high-quality and clean sawing. Therefore, the tool not only perfectly cuts ordinary wood (in which it can make deep cuts up to 105 mm), but also materials that are more “difficult” for jigsaws: from plywood and OSB boards to hard plastic, steel (up to 12 mm thick) and aluminium ( up to 20 mm).
Good but not perfect
A cursory acquaintance with the mechanical part leaves a good impression of the tool: the gears are metal, the stem is strong and reliable, there are no gaps or backlashes. Only the sole let up. It is quite flimsy, and the mechanism of its fixation does not provide proper rigidity. Therefore, if during work you lean too hard on the jigsaw, over time the sole may begin to wag and “live its own life”.
The complete set of the tool is excellent: there are built-in vibration absorbers and backlight. Keyless blade locking and sole angle adjustments let you change rigging and settings on the fly. A retractable metal guide (stabilizer bar) is built into the sole, which helps to saw exactly in a straight line, and not in waves. The blower switch makes it possible to blow sawdust from the cutting line to the side or direct the flow straight into the nozzle for connecting a vacuum cleaner so as not to litter at the workplace. And all this is sold together with a good plastic case with a large compartment for spare files.
Electric jigsaw for an amateur carpenter
If you have already appreciated the good value for money inherent in the Ryobi tool, then you will like this jigsaw. It is great for not too difficult everyday tasks, like carpentry work in a home workshop or during repairs. And do not forget that Makita, Bosch, Metabo or DeWALT jigsaws with the same set of options are much more expensive.
