Model overview based on user reviews
The SAMSON SR850 headphones are highly regarded for their excellent sound quality at an affordable price, making them a standout choice among budget options. Users appreciate the neutral and detailed sound profile, which is suitable for both instrumental and pop music. The headphones feature a long, thick 2.5-meter cable with a gold-plated adapter, although some users note the cable is non-detachable. The open-back design provides a great soundstage but allows sound leakage, making them more suitable for private listening environments. While the headphones fit well initially, some users report they can become uncomfortable over time, especially due to the ear pads warming the ears. Despite minor comfort issues, the SR850 is praised for its reliable construction and is considered a great entry-level option for both beginners and experienced users in audio mixing.

I bought it about a month ago on OLX, overall I'm happy with them. However, I do not have any experience with more expensive and high-quality headphones, and these are my first headphones of this type, so perhaps my opinion will not be objective. I got the option with velor ear pads. An excellent option for the price. High-quality sound. Fit well on the head. Long, thick cable. High-quality, breathable, and comfortable ear cushions. Auto-adjusting headband. At first it seems that they fit perfectly on the head, but over time they begin to put a little pressure on the head and warm the ears. ![]() |
I tested the semi-open monitor headphones Samson SR850. I can say one thing... For a couple of thousand UAH, this is the best solution I've seen from the budget options. Detailed and transparent sound????. Mids and highs are balanced and detailed. I think this is better than the AKG K52. I'm satisfied that even in such a price range, there are such quirky residents. The soundstage of these headphones is great, listeners will be able to enjoy them XD. The sound is smooth and detailed. Suitable for beginners in mixing and seasoned producers. It's kind of an underdog among the most budget-friendly headphones. Give them a listen, and they will respond to you XD. P.S. Don't think I haven't spent enough time with them and might not understand XD... I've been through like 10 dogs with headphones XD. From cheap Defenders to Focal Utopia 2022))) Sound For such a price, can you have a minus? XD ![]() |
A good model except for a few aspects. There's a strange click when playing music from the phone when turning on, and a couple of seconds after turning off the music/video. And a very strange design of thin ear cushions, which with prolonged use starts to cause unpleasant sensations. Can be used with both a Phone and an Audio Interface. It has a very long cable of 2.5 Meters. Not the most comfortable ear pads, Has a non-removable cable |
