Catalog Sonus Faber 2024 - new products, best sales and most actual models Sonus Faber.
The Italian company Sonus Faber (translated from Latin as “handmade sound”) has been offering musical equipment with a unique charm for more than 40 years. The $3,500 Olympica I speaker fully reflects the name of the brand and leaves no one indifferent who gets to know it.
Individual approach to each model
The Olympica series was released in 2013. The model was developed completely from scratch. Each element was thought out individually, and was not borrowed from previous series.
The highlight of the design of acoustics is the asymmetry of the body, similar to either a lute or a lyre. This was done on purpose: this is how the developers solved the problem of the occurrence of resonances and standing waves. The top and side panels of the Olympica I are made from real walnut combined with maple. The front and top are lined with leather.
The system is offered in two colours: wenge and walnut. Optional black piano lacquer and a pair of massive, stylish aluminium stands are available, for which you will have to pay a lot.
Maximum new ideas for pure sound
The model has a special slotted port of the Stealth Ultraflex phase inverter with a perforated metal plate. Such an original solution made it possible to minimize distortion and improve low-frequency response.
The 29mm Damped Apex Dome tweeter deserves special attention. Its dome is covered with a metal arc with a damper touching the central part of the dome. This design reduces unwanted fluctuations in the fabric cone. The 150 mm midbass is equipped with a diffuser made from a mixture of cellulose with cotton fibers and kenaf (hemp hibiscus). Thanks to these characteristics, the speakers transmit natural and lively sound in the frequency range of 50 – 30,000 Hz, providing a frequency response close to monitor acoustics.
Olympica I supports Bi-Wiring/Bi-Amping connection and is paired with a 40-150W amplifier.
Undoubtedly, Sonus Faber knows how to impress with its appearance, attention to detail and realism of sound. Many of their systems, including the Olympica, can be classified as real works of art, and if you are willing to pay big money for this fact, Sonus Faber products are for you.
