i took a NIKON D5500 to the carcass, so I can’t compare it with the whale Nikkor. Overall, I'm very pleased with the capabilities of the lens. Be sure to check for back-front focus when purchasing!!! I was given the opportunity to choose from several lenses - I had questions about some of them... The price was not great, but I bought it consciously. Despite the size, it's comfortable to shoot and hold as well. It doesn't cause any discomfort during use. Mistakes with autofocus I attribute to my inexperience, I'm learning and getting used to the camera settings. 2.8 - that's really cool, as far as I'm concerned. Indoor shooting without flash and no noise - I liked it! Before purchasing, you must realize the size of this lens with a diameter of 72 and a length - a real beast! And the weight matches accordingly... Shooting video... I thought my expensive Sony video camera would be handed down to my daughter due to lack of necessity. But no! Really - it's impossible to shoot!!! A successful photograph is a rarity. But when working with a flash, when most of the light is from the flash – the photos are quite sharp and contrasty. 2.8 bokeh a durable sturdy body with an anti-scratch surface. The stabilizer is unreliable (cracks), broke down in a week, reduces shake by 2 out of 5 points. The focus ring moves during operation. Focusing can only be adjusted in manual focus, it's stiff, jerky (not smooth). Focus is always off, mostly back-focused, strongly back-focused. Sharpness is weak even on closed apertures, often details in photos are blurred. Filters can ONLY be fitted one at a time, and ONLY with a slim profile. In general, I will answer complaints about poor focusing and blurriness - no one shoots at full aperture with fast lenses, even with Zeiss. Aperture 8 and always be in place! Aperture. Easy to use. The design is clean. The price is affordable. The vibration damper is noisy. Upon purchase, only the third copy turned out to be without any complaints. I encountered a failure of the zoom ring (jamming) on other copies. On off. I read on the website about plastic elements in the optical system.
