A full-frame prime lens from the premium Super Performance line that delivers unparalleled high image resolution combined with beautiful bokeh. You can get spectacular background blur when shooting at open apertures — up to f / 1.4 inclusive. Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD is assembled in a dust- and moisture-proof case made of high-quality plastic. The bayonet mount is metal. The optical scheme of the lens uses 14 elements in 10 groups.
Of these, 3 are molded aspherical elements and another 4 are made of LD glass. Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2 lens coating is used to reduce glare. The lens has a focus scale, and manual focus interception is also supported when autofocus is on. The thread for the light filter on the “nose” of the model has a diameter of 72 mm. The weight of the fixed lens turned out to be considerable — 800 g with a small "tail". A fix is available in versions for Canon and Nikon mirror full frames.

I can't believe that the company Tamron managed to create such a marvel. An incredible lens! I've been using it for a few months and don't have the words to describe it. Judging by numerous western reviews and my own experience – probably the best 35mm lens available right now among all systems, and definitely the best for Canon and Nikon. I'm comparing it to both versions of the 35L from Canon and the Sigma Art, which I have used. The image quality is simply unreal: the sharpness is fantastic wide open and absolute from edge to edge, with gorgeous and very soft buttery background blur (bokeh), the images have a "3D effect," micro-contrast is superb, colors are exemplary, chromatic aberration is completely absent, no nighttime coma in lights, and it does not catch flare or lose contrast against the light. The autofocus is instantaneous and perfectly accurate. At all times, under any conditions and in any lighting. Smooth and without jerks, and most importantly, almost noiseless. There is an option for manual refocusing at any moment. Works perfectly on Canon EOS R, digital SLR, and film cameras from Canon. The build quality is exemplary, professional, and worthy of the highest praise: metallic, sturdy, weather, and condition-resistant, with lenses that repel water, dirt, and dust. Looks and feels reliable, expensive, and stylish. Balances well on the camera, the focus ring turns smoothly and evenly, the included hood locks with a button and fits snugly, everything is perfectly aligned. There are no disadvantages, rather, there are two features: It's slightly heavier than other 35mm lenses and only 55 grams heavier than the Canon EF 35mm F1.4L II, but this is a small price to pay for such quality. Additionally, the extra weight allows for handheld shooting without blurring at longer exposures and helps stabilize video shots better. Therefore, for me, this is actually a plus. The latest Canon cameras do not have a built-in Lens Aberration Correction profile for it, unlike Canon's "native" lenses. But this is more of a complaint towards Canon. However, the plus is that it doesn't require any corrections due to its perfect image quality, and a slight vignette at an open aperture of 1.4 automatically corrects in any software. ![]() |
