Purchased for a 4-year-old child for independent play, as the parts appear large and supposedly allow for this without parental involvement. But it's not that simple. The track's connecting elements are separate small pieces shaped like an eight. To insert them into the tracks, you need to aim accurately and fit precisely into both grooves at once. If you insert into one first, it's already difficult for the other. This requires practice and getting used to it, and over time it gets better. It was disappointing that there are no spares, as they are easily lost. It would have been better if these connections were on one of the track ends. The "blocks" also don't stack perfectly on top of each other - precision and skill are necessary, but this comes with time. The large set with people, a station, and even signs was pleasing. The train is assembled from unique parts, not just blocks, which makes it look fitting - like the children's carriage from old cartoons ("Locomotive from Romashkovo"). A shortcoming is also noted in the quality of the plastic - it's thin and light. The wheels don't even rotate on the tracks. As a result, movement sometimes produces a squeak and a grind. For its price, the set is quite good, despite its drawbacks. However, I would not recommend it as the main railway construction set. And yes, it has been used for 4 years and is still intact.
