It has been working for 3 years, reliably, actively, and daily. It works well. It saves from the lack of USB ports on the computer. It handles most temporary and frequent connections: mouse, keyboard, flash drives (even dirty or damaged ones). Its USB 2.0 speed is more than enough for me for backing up large photos to an external HDD with its own power supply. Connected to a USB 3.0 port, this hub successfully passed my endurance test for current: simultaneously 4 devices - keyboard, mouse, flash drive, and external HDD powered by USB, which together exceeds 500mA (the standard current for USB 2.0), as shown by the USBDeview program - all 4 devices worked normally. The manufacturer stated that this is possible because this hub has overload protection. Durable for frequent connections. Sturdy metal body. Miniature. The same color as the laptop (aluminum). There are minor flaws or inconveniences: 1) All the slots were very tight initially, making them inconvenient to use. The connectors are not soldered quite evenly (although it is barely noticeable), slightly differently, so some slots might be tighter. Over time, they "loosened up" a bit. However, all contacts remain stable. 2) There's little space between the slots, so a wide USB drive will not fit when 2 adjacent slots are occupied. 3) There are no rubber feet, so it slides on the table and has scratches from friction on the table. |
