Thanks to the water-repellent impregnation, the windbreakers protect against light rain and wind. Softshell jackets have improved water and windproof properties - they are sewn from softshell materials of the same name. Membrane jackets contain a waterproof breathable layer. The membrane protects against precipitation and wind, while maintaining a comfortable microclimate inside. In order for such a jacket to fulfill its functions, you need to follow the principle of layering and dress properly for hiking. For the cold season, you can get a warm jacket. There are also combined jackets: they consist of an upper membrane layer and an inner layer with fleece. If necessary, the layers can be unfastened - it is allowed to wear only a membrane or only a fleece jacket separately.
