Also, note that most often the reduction has an eccentric layout — the central axes of the pipes connected by it do not coincide. For several reasons, it is this arrangement that often turns out to be optimal — in particular, with the correct installation of the fitting, it allows you to avoid the accumulation of contaminants when switching from a larger diameter to a smaller one on a horizontal or inclined section of the pipe.
