Kids' bikes with front brakes
Front brake
— the vehicle has front wheel brakes. Most often this is a rim brake — in it the pads are pressed against the wheel rim; such systems are simple, inexpensive and quite effective. Less common are disc brakes, in which the pads are pressed against a special disc — they are more powerful, but more complicated and more expensive. Please note that this function is found only in two-wheeled bicycles (see "Type"). The rear brake is in all such machines; the presence of the front one also increases the braking efficiency and indicates a fairly advanced level of the bike.
