Marking (classification) of the names of Philips & Saeco coffee machines
We independently test the products and technologies that we recommend.

Most likely, this was the reason for the creation of our own series under the Philips brand. Since these two companies created all the technologies and innovative solutions in close cooperation, it is not surprising that some models of Philips coffee machines are mirror similar to Saeco models. Perhaps in this way, in the future, all new products will be released under the Philips brand, and Saeco will be exclusively an engineering division without its own brand, for now this is just guesswork.
At the moment, Philips has the following series of coffee machines:
Since the article numbers of the same coffee machines differ in different countries, we will try not to miss and list them all.
Series 2000

The Series 2000 is based on the Saeco XSmall model. A small-sized coffee machine with a built-in coffee grinder and a minimal control interface. All coffee grinders in Philips coffee machines are equipped with ceramic burrs and allow you to adjust the degree of grinding.
The junior model of the series is designed exclusively for preparing one drink - espresso, by pressing just one button. The volume of the drink is regulated by holding the same button.
Color options : black - HD8648/01, HD8650/01 and HD8650/09; beige - HD8650/19; red - HD8650/29.
The older model is equipped with a manual cappuccino maker, thanks to which there is a variety of prepared drinks. In addition to espresso, it became possible to prepare lungo espresso and supply hot water.
Color options : black - HD8649/01, HD8551/01, HD8551/09, HD8653/01; beige - HD8649/11, HD8651/19; red - HD8651/21, HD8651/29; silver - HD8649/51; gray - HD8653/41.
Series 2100

The Series 2100 model is similar to the Series 2000 model. Among the changes: an adapter with a milk tank is installed on the Panarello nozzle, which allows you to prepare milk-based drinks in automatic mode, and the espresso lungo button has been replaced with cappuccino. Rarely found on sale.
Color options : silver - HD8654/59, HD8652/51.
Series 3000

The younger model Series 3000 replaced the Philips HD8822/09, added a lungo espresso drink, combined the steam and water buttons into one, and also added Aroma Plus technology - a function that allows you to prepare a stronger drink.
The model is equipped with an automatic coffee grinder with adjustable grinding degree and does not require the use of ground coffee. There are three buttons on the front panel with the main drinks; when held, you can program the desired volume. Main drinks: espresso, espresso lungo and Americano. Pressing the steam button once will dispense water, pressing twice will dispense steam.
The older model replaced the Philips HD8825/09. To prepare milk-based drinks, instead of a manual cappuccino maker, an automatic one with a milk container is used. Series 3000 coffee machines are produced exclusively in black.
Execution options : with pannarello nozzle (manual cappuccino maker) - HD8827/09; with automatic cappuccino maker and milk tank - HD8829/09.
Series 3100

Series 3100 coffee machines are updated versions of Philips HD8826/09 and HD8828/09. The new versions have improved the quality of the monochrome display and added a water filter. You can choose from a model with a manual cappuccino maker or an automatic cappuccino maker built into the milk tank. In a coffee machine with an automatic cappuccino maker, the steam button is replaced with cappuccino preparation.
There is another variation of the older model in the series, which has an additional latte macchiato drink placed on the front panel instead of a hot water button.
Execution options : with panarello nozzle (manual cappuccino maker) - EP3519/00, EP3510/00, EP3360/14 with automatic cappuccino maker and milk tank - EP3558/00, EP3550/00 with additional latte macchiato drink - EP3559/00, EP3551/00

Series 4000

Series 4000 represents an updated version of the Philips HD8842/09 and HD8848/09, which in turn borrowed the design from the Saeco Minuto coffee machines. Now we can see the pattern of name changes; models with the EP index receive updated displays and a water filter included in the package.
As usual, the younger model has a manual cappuccino maker, and on the front panel there are keys for making espresso, espresso lungo and classic coffee (Americano). Among the innovations is the CoffeSwith technology - a lever is located above the coffee dispenser that allows you to lower the pressure in the pump from 15 to 2 bar, this is the pressure that is considered ideal for making Americano. Model EP4010/00 comes in classic black color and, as usual with younger automatic machines, is equipped with a manual cappuccino maker.
They decided to highlight the older model by painting it gray. The coffee machine has an automatic cappuccino maker built into the milk tank and programs for preparing latte macchiato and cappuccino instead of the espresso lungo and hot water supply buttons on the front panel. This is also the first coffee maker in the Philips line that has learned to prepare milk drinks correctly, that is, first pour coffee and only then serve milk foam. The program is called “coffee with milk” and you can find it by looking through the menu a little.
Execution options : with pannarello nozzle (manual cappuccino maker) - EP4010/00; with automatic cappuccino maker and milk tank - EP4050/10.
Series 5000
If the Series 5000 design reminds you of anything, it's no surprise, just take a look at the discontinued Saeco Incanto.
The line opens with a model equipped with a manual cappuccino maker, a large monochrome display, and buttons for making espresso and Americano on the front panel.
Front panel colors : black - EP5310/10; white - EP5311/10; anthracite - EP5314/10; stainless steel - EP5315/10.
Next on the list is a coffee machine with an automatic cappuccino maker built into the milk tank. Additional preparation drinks are placed on the front panel: cappuccino and latte macchiato instead of supplying steam and hot water.
Front panel colors : black - EP5060/10, EP5360/10, EP5960/10; white (including side panels) - EP5361/10, EP5961/10; red - EP5064/10, EP5364/10; gray - EP5064/10, EP5364/10; silver - EP5363/10; stainless steel - EP5065/10, EP5365/10.
Rounding out the list is a coffee machine in which the usual milk tank is replaced with a jug developed by Philips called LatteGo. A special feature of the jug is its ease of cleaning, since it consists of only two elements that can be rinsed very easily and quickly under running water. Well, a pleasant bonus will be the ability to prepare the “correct” coffee, first serving coffee and only then milk foam. There is also a variation of the LatteGo Premium jug, in which the plastic spout has been changed to metal.
