There are many different offerings on the market today, from laser flashlights< /a> to keyrings that can be hung on keys . A complete list of models can be viewed in flashlight catalog. For the same material, we have selected five popular models, which we will discuss in more detail.

Fenix LD15 Price from 2 178 up to 3 579 ₴ →

Keychain flashlight, one of the most compact models in this review. Weighs only 21 grams, which allows you to fix it on the key ring and at the same time not even feel the appearance of unnecessary elements. The case is only 8 cm long and 1.6 cm in diameter, slightly larger than a standard AA battery, from which it is essentially powered. With a battery, the weight, however, slightly increases, but not critical.

Thanks to the use of the CREE XP-G R4 LED, the model can last up to 38 hours (from a single 2500 mAh battery). Fenix LD15 has two brightness modes. In other words, the claimed 38 hours it will provide a brightness of 8 lumens. If you need to find a needle in a haystack at night, then the brightness can be raised up to 117.8 lumens, but the battery life will be reduced to 1.5 hours.

The illumination range in the maximum mode is 90 m, but there is no beam focus, so only a very diffused light can be seen at a long distance.

The body is made of aircraft-grade aluminium with an anodized grade III, which makes the device highly durable. At the same time, the manufacturer claims IPx8 water resistance, which means that it can be used even underwater at a depth of more than 1 metre.

Another advantage is the use of a standard battery, which is easy to replace if necessary.

Great brightness and lighting range, long working time.

Nitecore EC2

The second model in our review already belongs to hand-held flashlights, although the length of the body is only 9 cm and the diameter is 2.4 cm According to users, the flashlight fits well in the hand, and the corrugated surface prevents slipping, which allows you to securely hold it even in wet palms.

the possibility of underwater operation at a depth of up to 2 metres (naturally, provided that the integrity of the silicone rings on the threaded connections and the presence of lubricant are preserved). The duration of work under water is not limited.

The body is anodized with a coating of III degree of hardness. The glass of the head part is tempered with increased resistance to scratches, which, among other things, allows you to get a high-quality glow throughout the entire service life.

Illumination range — up to 150 metres. To adjust the brightness level, there are 5 modes, as well as several additional modes of operation — strobe, SOS and tactical red glow with a power of 0.2 lumens. Despite its compact size, the maximum light output is 320 lumens, which provides very bright illumination even in pitch darkness.

All performance data is based on the use of 2 CR123 batteries or a 18650 battery. This is one of the significant disadvantages, since such batteries are not cheap, and the battery will require the purchase of an additional charger.

Great lighting range, battery charging from mains or USB.
No pouch or clip to carry, only 1 brightness level.

Led Lenser P5R

Although this flashlight is a bit large (body length is 118 mm, weight is 80 g), it can rightly be call one of the most long-range participants in our review. The range of illumination of Led Lenser P5R reaches 190 m, the beam can be focused over the entire distance, which will allow you to consider even the smallest details. And with all this, its brightness is 210 lumens, which in general allows us to talk about quite advanced characteristics.

The ability to adjust the brightness level is not provided, but instead you can adjust the focus in two modes. So, in order to consider the maximum space around you, it is better to use diffused light, and for maximum illumination of a certain area at a great distance, you need to switch the flashlight to the appropriate mode.

The manufacturer claims up to 12 hours of continuous operation from the supplied battery (lithium -ion type 14500 3.7 V). You can charge it both from an external power supply, and through an adapter from a computer USB port. Thanks to the modular design, the flashlight can be easily disassembled, so that if necessary, the battery can be easily replaced.

Since the body is not monolithic, it is not worth submerging it under water. But the manufacturer talks about protection according to the IPx4 standard, so you can use the flashlight in the rain without fear. The model comes in the original case, but there is no carrying case included.

Fenix E35

Fenix E35 also belongs to the class of compact flashlights, and the body dimensions are specially adjusted to make the device comfortable to hold in the palm of your hand . With a length of 11.6 cm, it weighs only 58 g, so it won't get lost in your pocket or bag, but it won't take up much space either. This model also has neither a belt clip nor a case, which can be considered a minor drawback. But at the same time, it has good characteristics, for which it is popular.

With a maximum brightness of 225 lumens, the Fenix E35 can illuminate an area up to 176 metres away, although there is no possibility to adjust the focus. Three glow modes are implemented, switching between them is carried out using a single button: maximum brightness (225 lm), medium (50 lm) and economy (5 lm). The latter option will be sufficient for use at home, the maximum operating time in this mode is 155 hours. At maximum brightness, of course, the battery will run out much faster — in just 3 hours.

So that users do not have to worry about replacing batteries, the flashlight uses an 18650 battery, but it is also possible to install a CR123A battery. If you use a battery, you will have to get an additional charger, since the Fenix E35 does not offer such a function.

The case is quite durable, there are seals in detachable places, which, according to user reviews, allow you not to worry about the internal filling during rain . But it doesn't claim to be waterproof.

Various mounting options.
Small brightness and light range.

Fenix MC11 R2

This model, in a certain sense, can be called a transformer among flashlights — the manufacturer positions the product as a hand-held flashlight, which, if necessary, can be use as headband. And the design of the Fenix MC11 itself confirms this with its appearance — the head part can be rotated to one of seven fixed positions. Thus, the flashlight can be hung on a belt, on clothes or on a headgear to free up your hands.

The body is made of T6 aircraft-grade aluminium alloy with an anodized finish. In some places, aluminium is hidden under plastic, and due to the low weight, it even seems that these parts are completely made of plastic, but this is not so. The smooth reflector is covered with scratch-resistant tempered glass. All detachable parts have seals, the manufacturer claims water resistance to a depth of 2 metres.

In terms of brightness (81 lm) and range (87 m), the flashlight cannot be called outstanding, but it is quite enough for use at home, in the car , fishing or any other situation where you need a portable light.

In addition to a simple glow, there are strobe and SOS modes. Three brightness modes allow you to choose the one you need for specific conditions, and in the most economical mode, the Fenix MC11 can work up to 53 hours. The battery is an ordinary AA battery or similar.
