Despite the popularization of OLED panels, they still remain quite expensive, which is why the phrase "affordable OLED monitor" still sounds like an oxymoron. However, if you haven't lost hope of finding a quality and affordable OLED, we recommend paying attention to the debut OLED from AOC with the hard-to-pronounce name AGON AG276QZD.

The AGON AG276QZD monitor is equipped with a 27-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. The 10-bit matrix used in it ensures natural color reproduction (99% DCI-P3) with incredibly deep blacks, high contrast, and peak brightness up to 1000 cd/m², which is required for optimal HDR display. The response time is only 0.03 ms, making it ideal for fast-paced shooters and other games. Support for G-Sync and FreeSync helps eliminate image tearing and delays.

Considering it is a premium-class monitor, the manufacturer has equipped it with a USB hub for peripherals, support for "picture by picture" mode (PBP), built-in lighting and presence sensors, as well as quite decent stereo speakers with a power of 5 W each. Unfortunately, the ports are not USB C and do not support charging, which is a downside in the eyes of creative professionals. Of interest is the decorative module with customizable Light FX RG backlight, which hides on the back cover of the monitor. Completing the picture is a removable stand, which allows for height, tilt, and rotation adjustments of the screen, as well as portrait orientation.

10-bit QD-OLED matrix, 240 Hz refresh rate + 0.03 ms response + other gaming options, good DCI-P3 coverage, ergonomic stand, 10-watt acoustics, KVM switch, USB C (PD 18 W + Alt Mode), TÜV Rheinland certificate.

The heart of the 27-inch monitor from the brand Gigabyte is the 10-bit matrix QD-OLED. This is a technology based on organic diodes, complemented by a light filter with quantum dots. The image on such a display will delight with excellent contrast (1,500,000:1), excellent color reproduction and color coverage (99% DCI-P3 coverage claimed). The image is also characterized by a decent brightness reserve for viewing HDR content (DisplayHDR True Black 400 certificate is available) and good detail (resolution 2560x1440 pixels).

In addition, the Gigabyte Aorus FO27Q2 matrix supports OLED Care functions based on AI aimed at protecting against pixel burnout and extending the life of the monitor. They include a static image shift function, recovery modes, automatic brightness control, etc. In addition, note the screen's eye safety, as confirmed by the company TÜV Rheinland.

For gamers, the model offers the main features of OLED technology (apart from excellent picture quality) — high refresh rates (up to 240 Hz) and lightning-fast response (0.03 ms from gray to gray). This makes it an excellent choice for both gaming PCs and popular consoles. Additional profile technologies include adaptive synchronization AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and an abundance of gaming options — a convenient tool panel, Black Equalizer for highlighting dark scenes, a reticle display, FPS counter, a gaming assistant, etc.

The monitor is equipped with a practical stand that allows the display to be switched to portrait mode, adjust height (range 13 cm), not only tilt, but also rotate the screen. There’s also a KVM switch, allowing the use of a single set of peripherals with two computers (desktop and laptop). A separate highlight is the good 10-watt stereo system and USB hub, which includes a Type C port: supporting DP Alt Mode for image output and gadget charging (Power Delivery 18 W).

Gigabyte Aorus FO27Q2 — a great monitor for gamers (and not only) with a good balance of quality, features, and price.

10-bit OLED matrix, 240 Hz, good DCI-P3, response speed 0.03 ms, FreeSync Premium/G-Sync support, USB hub for peripherals, gaming mode, ergonomic adjustable stand, HDMI 2.1.
At this price, USB C would be appreciated.

About 5–6 years ago, gaming monitors were either fast or provided beautiful visuals but suffered from high latency. Advanced IPS screens partially solved this issue, but it was only with the widespread adoption of OLED matrices that gamers got exactly what they wanted. However, such solutions were initially extremely expensive. Against this backdrop, the UltraGear 27GS95QE of 2024 looks very interesting — it is perhaps the first OLED monitor from LG that combines the best of both worlds and still costs less than 40 thousand hryvnias.

LG UltraGear 27GS95QE represents a 27-inch flagship OLED panel with a resolution of 2560x1440 (16:9), the highest contrast, high peak brightness, 10-bit color depth, and 98.5% coverage of the DCI P3 color triangle. In other words, it is a cool screen practically of professional level, suitable for photo and video processing. At the same time, from a gaming point of view, it boasts a record-low input lag of 0.03 ms and an impressive refresh rate up to 240 Hz. The monitor is also compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies, ensuring smooth display of images without tearing even in the most dynamic scenes with many moving objects. And the presence of HDMI version 2.1 ports will allow images to be displayed from consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X without any compromises.

In terms of additional features, LG’s creation fully meets its flagship status. It's equipped with a dual USB hub with DisplayPort and Power Delivery support for connecting peripherals, external monitors, and laptops. The ergonomic stand allows for tilt and rotation adjustments of the display, and the built-in gaming mode allows for the display of a fixed crosshair (convenient for games without a crosshair like Battlefield 1) or to show an FPS counter instead of FRAPS and similar software. There is also a Shadow Boost function for artificially brightening especially dark areas of a frame in networked games.

10-bit OLED matrix, 240 Hz, good DCI-P3, response speed 0.03 ms, FreeSync Premium/G-Sync, 4-port USB hub, ergonomic stand, USB C with fast charging and Alt Mode, HDMI 2.1.
Issues with insufficient backlighting (likely to be resolved with a firmware update), cost higher than competitors.

Thanks to the activity of LG Displays, the range of OLED monitors in 2023 significantly expanded. Among the companies that introduced their OLED solutions was the unexpected appearance of the American brand Corsair with their line of gaming monitors XENEON. The model XENEON 27QHD240 is one of the main stars of this series, representing a top-notch 27-inch monitor on all fronts, on which it’s exceptionally pleasurable to work, replay favorite games or rewatch favorite movies with HDR on, discovering new details.

The foundation of the Corsair XENEON 27QHD240 is the top-level 10-bit OLED matrix from LG with Quad HD resolution, an impressive 240 Hz refresh rate, and virtually non-existent input lag (pixel response time GtG up to 0.03 ms), infinite contrast, and perfect color reproduction (100% Adobe RGB, 99% DCI-P3). A unique feature of the model is the complete absence of glare thanks to its semi-matte screen, which is rare among OLED monitors. Additional features include support for FreeSync Premium/G-Sync, an advanced hub with four USB ports (one USB C with fast charging and video transmission support), an ergonomic stand, and a modern set of video ports, including two HDMI 2.1, and one DisplayPort 1.4.

However, despite excellent characteristics, the XENEON 27QHD240 has its drawbacks. The main issue is limited brightness — even with HDR enabled, peak brightness reaches 800 nits on a small area and only 150 nits on 100% of the screen, and the ABL (Automatic Brightness Limiter) mode adapts brightness too aggressively compared to competitors. Corsair promises that a new firmware update will reprofile the ABL mode and increase the monitor's brightness by 33%, but for now, we have what we have. The second nuance is the price. Right now, with similar characteristics, Corsair's creation will cost about 10-15% more than the AOC AGON AG276QZD and Acer Predator X27 with nearly identical OLED matrices from LG.

10-bit OLED matrix, 240 Hz refresh rate + 0.03 ms response + other gaming options, good DCI-P3 coverage, ergonomic stand, synchronizable RGB backlight, TÜV Rheinland certificate.
At this price, USB C would be appreciated.

The gaming status of the Asus monitor is immediately supported by its characteristic design. The body of the 26.5-inch model has a branded synchronizable RGB backlight Aura Sync. Additional design features include a thread for attaching a camera and a fairly massive stand. The display supports not only tilt but also rotation, height adjustment, and even portrait orientation.

The Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG is based on an OLED matrix with 10-bit color and a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. It provides gamers with smooth video (240 Hz), excellent performance (response 0.03 ms), and a great picture. The image is distinguished by benchmark contrast, excellent color reproduction (99% DCI P3 and 135% sRGB coverage), and a strong brightness reserve (up to 450 nits, which is confirmed by the DisplayHDR True Black 400 certificate). For flexible gaming settings and beyond, DisplayWidget software is available. Plus, AMD FreeSync Premium and G-SYNC Compatible are supported along with various gaming options, including Gaming AI — optimization based on AI.

The monitor uses a third-generation OLED panel, which is better protected against burnout risks. For protection against overheating, there is a special heat sink, and additional protection functions are implemented through ASUS OLED Care. As a result, the warranty on the matrix is 3 years. Moreover, the display does not flicker and is safe for the eyes, thanks to filtering of potentially harmful blue light (these features are certified by TÜV Rheinland).

The drawbacks include the absence of speakers, and on the downside — a USB hub without a Type C port, which would not hurt considering the significant price tag of the model. In any case, the Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG — is an excellent gaming monitor based on OLED.
