The American company for the production of sound equipment for home and car Harman Kardon has always stood out for quality products. This is exactly what the new Bluetooth speaker One, created in collaboration with the Taiwanese NTS, turned out to be - a reliable device with a strict elegant design and quite decent sound.

The case is made of black metal with embossed grilles on both sides and a corporate logo on the front panel looks quite stylish and pleasant to the touch. The control buttons are located on the left side, and on the right there is an audio jack and a charging port with LED battery charge indicators. There is NFC support, which allows instant data exchange with another device that supports the technology, however, at a distance of less than 2-3 cm. But Bluetooth, although not so fast for transmission, but maintains a stable connection within a radius of up to 25 metres on flat terrain.

The single-band speaker produces a clear and crisp sound without distortion and vibration, even at maximum volume. Harman Kardon One is particularly good at "succeeding" medium and low frequencies.

The battery provides continuous operation of the device for up to 5 hours. One can be used as a telephone speaker, for which it has a built-in speakerphone. The microphone works quite well, thanks to the noise reduction system - speech is heard clearly and legibly. Connecting to a smartphone is done using the HTC Connect app. A simple swipe with three fingers on the smartphone screen - and the music is already playing. The device is equipped with a protective soft case.

Harman Kardon One is one of the best options in its segment and is entirely suitable for connoisseurs of high-quality portable speakers. No significant disadvantages have been identified.

After the stunning success of the SRS-X3, the Japanese manufacturer launched another model of the series - SRS-X33. The device is distinguished by the Omnibalance branded design with black rounded edges of smooth surfaces, which has been SONY's hallmark since 2013. Available in four colours: black, white, red and blue.

The controls are located on the top panel, which feels like soft rubber. The front and back of the device is covered with metal grilles. There is a reset button on the bottom of the case made of smooth matte plastic. Six rubber feet are responsible for stability.

The sound quality of the SRS-X33 is provided by modern sound transmission and reproduction technologies LDAC, DSEE and ClearAudio+. Two 10-watt speakers with passive emitters produce a powerful sound with a predominance of low frequencies. The bass is so strong that the speaker shakes and pulsates, but without unpleasant rattling. The faint hiss of the upper frequencies is removed by the equalizer settings, and the most balanced sound and maximum comfort from background listening are provided at a volume level of 40%. An interesting "feature" of the speaker is the expansion of the stereo base, implemented by the Sound button.

The SRS-X33 battery is charged from the mains or via USB. In the first case, it will take 1.5-2 hours to charge, and in the second - from 2 to 5 hours. The battery charge lasts up to 12 hours of battery life! The level is tracked by the orange indicator located on the upper panel of the column.

Powerful sound, compactness, long battery life and a range of Bluetooth 3.0 up to 10 metres of line of sight will surely appeal to fans of outdoor activities and travel.

Bose is considered to be synonymous with good sound, and SoundLink Mini is one of the leaders in the segment of premium portable speakers. The model is offered in a silver-coloured metal case and is characterized by rounded design forms.

The front part of the column is protected by a metal grille, and a rubber damper is used for sealing. The control panel is located on top. The bottom of the case is covered with a rubber stand that dampens vibrations. It is also used to land the device in the dock.

Despite its compactness, the device reverses the idea of mobile speakers, sometimes striking with its capabilities.

The Bose SoundLink Mini produces a sound as if the diameter of its speakers is much larger than it actually is. The volume reserve is simply amazing, and the bass sound is bright and distinct, especially readable in a small room with an area of up to 20 m².

The main purpose of the USB port is to connect a “flash drive” to play music from it through the built-in media player. But you can charge the device via USB only with the help of a special adapter or by means of a conventional charger included in the kit. The battery will last for seven hours of operation, and the Bluetooth connection is stable at a distance of up to 10 metres.

To protect the case separately, you can buy a branded silicone bumper in five colours to choose from. And travel lovers will be pleased with the mini travel bag - "survival" case with a pocket for a cable and a soft lining.

The disadvantages of the iSoundLink Mini include, perhaps, only the lack of a hands-free function and a heavily scratched case. But it is unlikely to be possible to find another equally stylish and performant column on the market.

The JBL Flip 2 portable speaker, which replaced the successful Flip, turns any place into a full-fledged multimedia studio and is aimed at a youth audience. It is currently sold in five colours: black, blue, white, red and yellow.

The cylindrical plastic housing does not creak, good assembly affects. The perforated walls look decent. Silver edging completes the design.

On the back panel there is a USB port, an audio jack and charge indicators. The control buttons with a spectacular white backlight are conveniently placed on the left side of the case, and on the right there is an NFC inscription notifying about the device's support for this technology. At the moment of Bluetooth pairing, a characteristic sound is heard. Voice alerts are not supported, but Flip 2 can be used as a speakerphone. Sound quality is provided by SoundClear technology.

Two 6-watt phase invertor speakers, made using Bass Port technology, guarantee high-quality sound even in a large room. The stereo effect is pronounced. The low frequencies are impressive in depth and readability. Medium and high sound a little flat, but clean and legible. There is a smooth 30-level volume control, but the tracks from the speaker do not switch.

Through the USB port, the speaker is charged in an hour and a half. A full charge guarantees 5 hours of battery life. JBL Flip 2 is a quality product for reasonable money from the creator of professional music equipment, and this already speaks volumes, as do numerous reviews from satisfied owners.

The American company Beats Audio, which has recently been part of Apple, does not cease to delight fans of portable sound with a line of active Pill stereo speakers (translated from the English capsule or tablet). The case of the device is stylized as a capsule. Beats Pill is capable of connecting to gadgets via cable or Stereo Bluetooth® technology and is available in a plastic case in eight colours.

Thanks to the small carabiner, the Pill can be attached to a belt or backpack. The case is assembled tightly, does not creak and does not play. The speakers are traditionally protected by metal grilles, and the lower part of the case is protected by a rubber backing.

There is a pause and resume mode, but there are no rewind and track selection functions. The active battery indicator lights green and flashes red when the charge level is low, the battery lasts for 6 hours of battery life. Bluetooth connect/disconnect is accompanied by beeps. One of the additional advantages is a built-in microphone that allows you to make calls.

Four speakers (two for each channel) with a total power of 12 watts produce a clear and clear sound with a predominance of low frequencies. Distortions appear at the maximum volume. Strong wheezing and rattling is not heard, but the sound loses its warmth and intelligibility. Flaws are eliminated by the equalizer.
