I purchased this video card on 16.11.2023. It arrived the next day. I installed it, realized the card was working, and "forgot" about it while playing a hardware-light online game. The card worked fine, and I was at ease. A few days ago, I decided to launch EVE online, cranked the settings to max at 2k, and got an unpleasant high-pitched sound from the system unit. I listened closely and realized it was the video card "whistling." I tested it further with FurMark and several other programs/benchmarks and in RDR2 - the whistling persisted. So, during regular use and with undemanding games, the card doesn't "whistle," but with heavier loads, you need to put on headphones because playing/working 1-1.5 meters away from the system unit is impossible, even the noise from the video card's cooling system doesn't "override" this "whistle/squeal." I contacted Asus representatives and the store where I bought the card with this issue, and Asus replied that this is normal for Asus TUF video cards. So when purchasing a $1k video card from Asus, you should be prepared to work/play modern, demanding games only with headphones. The online store suggested sending the card to them, and if the "diagnosis" is confirmed, they will send it to Asus service, which I did an hour ago. Why am I writing this here? Because I'm more than sure that when choosing Asus products, you would expect a premium class item and be ready to pay extra for the brand to ensure high quality. But is that the case with Asus? Meet the RTX 4080 12GB in a new guise
The announcement of the 4th generation of GeForce RTX graphics cards did not go according to plan. First, the players were advertised for a long time with the DLSS version, then the “greens” made confusion with the versions of the RTX 4080 model, then the players went a little crazy with the difference between the announced and real prices. Nearly half a year later, NVIDIA came to its senses and re-released the RTX 4080 model with 12 GB of memory called the RTX 4070 Ti. In fact, this is the same card based on the NVIDIA AD104 core with 7680 CUDA cores and a 12 GB GDDR6X buffer with a 192-bit bus. However, the name is no longer misleading, and the price looks more adequate.

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti has a very attractive price/speed ratio. At a lower cost, the new product demonstrates performance at the level of the flagship of the previous generation GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, providing a comfortable frame rate in most AAA projects of recent years in 2K / 4K resolution and mixed graphics settings. That being said, the RTX 4070 Ti has a couple of very serious architectural aces up its sleeve that greatly improve the quality and performance of hardware ray tracing and DLSS supersampling technology. Tri-slot cooling system and dual BIOS
The Asus GeForce RTX 4070 Ti TUF is a three-slot variant of the RTX 4070 Ti graphics card with three air coolers. It uses an updated cooling system with new 11-blade Axial-tech fans. Compared to TUF RTX 30XX graphics cards, the new coolers are capable of pumping a third more air volume, providing better airflow to the video core and memory. Traditionally, for models of the TUF series, the manufacturer used a denser textolite and durable system elements, equipped the board with dual UEFI / BIOS and built several alternative operating modes into the firmware.

Why is this not a warranty case?
The physics of the process. This is not a malfunction — components function within normal limits, without loss of performance or reliability.
Inconsistency. The intensity or presence of the whining may change depending on the load, operating mode of the device, or even environmental factors (temperature, humidity).
Individual perception. The same sound can be noticeable to some users and almost imperceptible to others.
Manufacturing tolerances. All manufacturers allow a certain level of acoustic noise, which is not considered a defect.
Important
If the whining is not accompanied by malfunctions, overheating, or other problems, it is not grounds for warranty replacement.
The video card is decent, allows playing on high settings, but seriously using it for VR is not advisable - it doesn't handle full ultra settings.
