Model overview based on user reviews
The Federal Xplora A/T tires are highly regarded for their performance in rural areas and snowy conditions, with users praising their ability to hold ice and sleet effectively. They feature an aggressive tread design and are made of durable and thick rubber, making them suitable for challenging terrains. However, they are noted to be noisy on asphalt, especially at speeds above 50 km/h. While they excel in traction on wet and icy surfaces, they may not be the best choice for regular asphalt use. Overall, these tires are a cost-effective option for those prioritizing off-road capabilities over on-road quietness.
Pros
Cons
Over the weekend I went to the motorcycle track to try new tires and old ones too (General Grabber AT3, on the front axle). The weather turned bad, it started raining, +1, snowing. From observations: on an inclined surface, the General Grabber AT3 immediately after stopping began to slide down, and these tenaciously held on to the wet snow. Climbing uphill is also possible, but the General Grabber AT3 let us down by starting to slip and slide off the road towards the cliff. hold ice, sleet noisy (quite expected) ![]() |
I will write it preliminarily regarding the tires I have just bought for one axle (that's how it ended up), rear, all-wheel drive. The rear is primary, and the front engages automatically. Didn't notice any slipping on ice during sharp acceleration. Already not bad. On the front axle are General Grabber AT3s, they are almost silent, but the price of one is like a set of these tires. Aggressive tread design, quite durable and thick rubber to the touch, holds ice and snow well (it’s now the end of November, snow has fallen, melted, frozen) Significant noise when driving on asphalt above 50 km/h ![]() |
