We bought this device for old TVs and use it all the time. The interface is clear, the remote is convenient, and there is quick access to all the necessary services. I don't know what else is needed. I bought Google Chromecast over a year ago, choosing between competitors, and settled on it due to its affiliation with Google. I didn't regret it. As a 1080p TV box, it works wonderfully. The convenient app, the absence of setup issues, and the ability to cast from the phone screen are the main advantages. The quality is on point. I chose Chromecast over Chinese alternatives that are comparable in specifications due to the hope for stability. And that stability is indeed present. I found no downsides for myself. The build quality is top-notch, it works with all devices (well, except for Apple, but that's always the case…).
