The versatility is pleasing, you can jump into the water without a case. Video quality is top-notch. 4k with high bitrate and 265 codec. I use it on the bike, underwater, and for filming where bulkier equipment won't do. Video/photo quality (if shooting in raw) / timelapses. There are really no downsides to speak of, I've been dreaming of it for a long time and bought the Special Bundle version. The stabilization is top-notch, shooting video on a motorcycle is pure pleasure. All functions work effortlessly, NO CRASHES! At night it's noisy, but for an action camera, the shooting is quite good. At temperatures below +10, the battery drains very quickly. About 20 minutes of driving at 1080p/60 FPS with Wi-Fi on and without GPS drains the camera by 40-50%. I had to purchase 5 more batteries. 4K video
In terms of video GoPro HERO8 shoots in maximum resolution up to 4K (3840x2160 pixels) with a frame rate of 60 fps. Videos in FullHD format are recorded on a camera with a frame rate of up to 240 fps, which allows you to freeze motion in the frame at the post-production stage of the footage. In all video modes, the operator has access to digital image stabilization of the updated generation HyperSmooth 2.0. The stub is so good that in some cases it allows you to do without a steadicam to get a smooth picture. In TimeWarp mode, the model captures time-lapses in motion, adjusting to the speed of movement, the scene and ambient lighting.
Innovation package
To increase the ease of management, quick access presets to different shooting modes have been added to the camera menu. GoPro HERO8 gets another plus for the karma for the ability to connect external modules, in particular, a remote flash, a frame with a built-in microphone, and a screen module (for sighting in the “selfie” position). The action camera takes pictures at a resolution of 12 MP, giving out pictures in the “raw” RAW format at the output. As a result, the model turned out to be adapted to different shooting scenarios, whether it is active cycling, water sports or VLOG recording.
