Today, before my very eyes, my RAV4 car with a pandora DX-9X alarm installed was stolen. It turns out that this alarm has a significant security hole ... a bluetooth application, if desired, which can be tied to the system from any phone. Today I was shown this clearly.
The fact is that this alarm has two pin codes, one on the card and it is intended for emergency disarming of the alarm ... this code is permanent and does not change. And the second permanent code that no one ever changes and it is available to everyone .... a pin code for setting up the system .... four units and it is well known. When they installed the alarm in the official Pandora service center, they didn’t change it either.
Today, before my very eyes, they showed me how easy it is to pair with pandora DX-9x any other phone with the pandora BT application installed. Less than a minute .... a 4-unit pincode is entered, then 18 clicks on the jack button, .... and the left phone with the application subscribed to the system, after which they disarmed the alarm as a key fob.
The hole in pandora is that this pin code is never changed. In any service station, electricians know about this hole in this alarm ...
Therefore, they can easily sign any phone to the system .... and then sell it to hijackers.
In short, I was in SHOCK.
