The Philips HD 9125 steamer of Dutch blood entered the arena of kitchen appliances for adherents of healthy eating at the dawn of 2013. Since then, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, but the model cannot be discounted even today.

As easy as pie

An important advantage of a double boiler in front of peers is the simplest control. The device is activated by turning the mechanical timer knob, while the steaming time is selectable from 1 to 60 minutes. The rotary wheel lacks only a coloured marker for greater clarity of setting time intervals for cooking.

Configuration flexibility

The model is configured from three transparent plastic baskets with a total volume of 9.6 liters. For the sake of the possibility of cooking large-caliber dishes (for example, whole chicken), the trays near the cells are made removable. A mini-container for herbs and spices is attached to the steam outlet, which enriches the cooked food with unsurpassed aromas.

Strengths

As usual for a self-respecting double boiler, Philips HD 9125 has a spout for adding water during cooking and a power cord winding mechanism. Besides baskets of model develop one in one for saving of the place at storage. The device did not work out with only one item of the programme — the duration of the “cold start”, which is why you have to add a couple of minutes more to the standard cooking time for many fortified dishes.
