After exploring the range of electric meat grinders and their prices, I was desperately inclined to purchase an affordable Saturn. From my perspective, a home electric meat grinder is not exactly a necessity, but since my wife requested such a device, I had no choice but to buy one. Settling for a budget-friendly Saturn didn't work out. I ended up getting a not-so-cheap Philips, which my wife really liked. I would have never bought something like this myself. In my view, combining the functions of a meat grinder, vegetable slicer, and sausage maker is not a very good idea. The meat grinder is fantastic, it grinds meat at a dizzying speed. According to the manual, it can turn 2300 grams of meat into mince per minute, but we didn't need to replicate such records. I'll just say that there are no pauses when adding the next piece; it swallows the previous one very quickly. With the help of three interchangeable mesh knives (this is not just a grate; it's a knife with a fixed blade), you can chop meat through holes with diameters of 3, 5, or 8 centimeters. But as they say, it's not only about meat grinding. The set also includes three cylindrical knives for vegetable slicing. Here, things are not perfect, and according to my wife, even the cheapest kitchen processor slices better than this meat grinder. We haven't yet used the attachments for regular sausage and some kind of "kebbe" sausage. I really hope we won't need the 24-month brand official warranty from Philips either. My wife says that the vegetable slicer is "not great." It works loudly, makes noise throughout the apartment, so much so that it even woke our three-year-old son from his nap. |
The plastic case of the model representing the Viva Collection family is painted to look like stainless steel. But the tray and the connecting element responsible for fixing the screw are already directly made of steel, which contributes to the overall high reliability of the device.

Philips HR 2723 is equipped with three minced meat discs. Grid with 8 mm holes is designed for cooking burgers and sausages. A 5 mm disc is suitable for making cutlets or meatballs, and a 3 mm disc is suitable for children's dishes, soufflés and pâtés.
To create homemade sausages with a meat grinder, there are two plastic nozzles with a diameter of 22 and 12 mm. A special accessory is also offered for lovers of kebbe or stuffed cutlets. Three more complete attachments are used for cutting and chopping vegetables and fruits. Two drums will allow you to grate the food finely or coarsely, and the third one will get neat slices.
Effortless performance
The meat grinder is equipped with a 500-watt power unit, which develops a power of 1800 watts at peak loads. Such indicators are enough to cope with any, including tough types of meat with thick veins. For a minute of work Philips HR 2723 makes up to 2.3 kg of minced meat, but it works quite noisily, especially with solid loads. In case of overheating, the motor switches off automatically.
Easy management and maintenance
The controls are as simple as possible: there is only an on / off button on the body, but the reverse function is not provided, so to remove the veins from the auger, you will probably need to disassemble the device. At the same time, caring for the meat grinder is as convenient as possible. So, the metal loading part has an additional collapsible InsertClean element, which simplifies the process of washing it under running water. And for quick removal of meat residues from the holes of the disks, a convenient accessory with protrusions of the required diameter is offered.
Philips HR 2723 is a good meat grinder in the middle price segment with an extended set of attachments and nice bonuses for quick cleaning.
