An updated version of the Samsung Gear VR virtual reality helmet, developed jointly with Oculus, was released in early 2016, simultaneously with the announcement of the flagship smartphones Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

The gadget allows you to fully immerse yourself in the world of virtual reality, which includes games, 3D movies, viewing 360-degree photos and videos, browsing the Internet, etc. Immersion is achieved using a compatible mobile phone (in addition to the above S7 series, the device supports all devices of the Samsung Galaxy S6 series, as well as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 smartphone). Simple control
The helmet is equipped with an accelerometer, a gyroscope and a proximity sensor. All of them are directly involved in controlling the gadget and navigating through its menu. For example, flipping through the interface occurs by tilting or turning the head. Also, a special touchpad on the starboard side is used to control the device. Due to the slight recession into the body, it is much easier to feel with your fingers during operation. Next to the touchpad, you can find the volume rocker and the "Back" key, a long press on which opens the menu.
Comfortable operation
The viewing angle in glasses is 96°, which is one of the most optimal indicators for devices of this class. For users with low vision, the design of the gadget provides a diopter adjustment wheel (on the upper edge) — fine tuning is achieved by changing the position of the smartphone in the horizontal plane. It should be noted that the helmet does not cause fatigue even when worn for a long time (about 1.5-2 hours), but some people may still experience dizziness or nausea, which is associated with individual human physiology.
