GPS informer
The SilverStone F1 CityScanner pulls police camera and radar data from the pre-installed SpeedCam database using the GPS receiver built into the mount. With fasteners on the windscreen, the DVR is docked through a magnetic connector with active power from the car cigarette lighter socket. Also in the “gut” of the device is a supercapacitor that is resistant to temperature fluctuations. Updating databases about police complexes is carried out via Wi-Fi using a connected mobile phone. The only caveat is that when the wireless adapter is enabled, the GPS informer does not work for the model.
Gesture control
On the passenger side, the dashcam is equipped with a 3-inch IPS screen, which displays the image from the camera and notifications about police radars. At the same time, the device supports gesture control — a wave of the hand from left to right turns off voice prompts, and if you bring your hand to a special sensor for about 1 second, the screen switches to screensaver mode. SilverStone F1 CityScanner will prove the correctness of any of the parties in the event of conflict situations on the road and will avoid receiving "letters of happiness" with fines for traffic violations.
I expected better image quality, but I can't say it records poorly either. The GPS function is not very useful for me. It records audio well. It connected to the Redmi via Wi-Fi without problems, and you can watch videos from the dash cam, but with some lag—not critical, but still. Try to attach the dash cam mount evenly to the glass because it sticks very "concretely."
