How to choose an air conditionerThe main criteria to consider when choosing an air conditioner

What is the difference between a cheap air conditioner and an expensive one?Is it worth paying more when buying an air conditioner? Let's take a look at the pros and cons.
The children grew up, went to school and the wife was finally tired of sitting at home. She wanted her own business and I decided to help her. Her close friend is a good hairdresser and she encouraged her wife to open a hairdresser. The idea is really not bad, I bought a two-room apartment on the ground floor of a high-rise building and made repairs there with landscaping of the surrounding area. And this air conditioner has become the main and only hairdressing cooler. They installed it not in the hall itself (the former large room), but in the hall, from which the doors to all rooms diverge. The total area of the apartment is approximately 45 squares and this is exactly what this air conditioner can handle. First of all, it must be said that the air conditioner does an excellent job of maintaining a comfortable temperature even on those August days when the temperature exceeded 35 degrees. There were enough flows of icy air both for the hall (that is, a large room with an area of 16 squares) and for a cosmetic treatment room (small, 10.5 squares). It is important that due to the placement in the corridor, drafts did not walk through the rooms. If you turn on the night mode, it works very quietly, at full fan speed it makes a little noise, but it is rarely driven at full speed, usually the average one is enough. My wife got the hang of using the timer and now the air conditioner turns on itself half an hour before opening and by this time it creates a pleasant coolness. It has a nice appearance and a long two-year warranty. The remote control is very small with small buttons and a microscopic screen that does not have a backlight. At the hairdresser's, it may not be very necessary, but at home, in the evening or at night, it would be inconvenient. |
The Chinese and Chinese brands are doing a great job; it's completely unclear what we would do without them. At this price, and it only cost us 6200 hryvnias, you can't buy any truly branded model. Moreover, the air conditioner comes with a two-year warranty. It's only been working for us the second month, and there's not much to complain about yet. It cools efficiently and blows well too. The temperature and fan speed are adjustable with the remote control. For a comfortable sleep, there's a "night mode" where the fan works at a minimum and is almost silent. You can truly sleep, tested. The indoor unit is white, with a simple and completely neutral design, without any extravagance. It fits any interior and doesn't draw unnecessary attention. If desired, it can operate in ventilation mode, meaning just circulating air around the room without turning on the outdoor unit and compressor. It can also act as a large, powerful fan heater. I think this mode will come in handy in October. There’s a simple timer for turning it on and off. The remote control is small, the buttons are small, but you get used to it. But the fact that the screen without backlight in the evenings and at night is annoying. |
All our windows and the balcony face the south-southwest side, meaning that from eleven in the morning until sunset in the summer, the sun shines directly into the windows. My wife struggled in the kitchen by the stove, our young son couldn't take his afternoon naps due to the heat, and when I came home from work in the evening, I was met with stagnantly hot thirty-degree air. This is an inexpensive but efficient split system, with the indoor unit installed not in the room, but in the hallway next to the kitchen. This way, the main cold and icy breeze circulated in the hallway, making the rooms cool and quiet. Moreover, the unit's power is sufficient for the entire apartment when installed this way. It's true that we didn't attempt to achieve extreme cooling. The small room was about 25 degrees, and the large room was a degree warmer, which was enough. Besides cooling, this air conditioner can also operate in heating mode. We haven't had a chance to test it thoroughly for heating yet, but I have no doubt it can raise the air temperature by a couple or three degrees. Thanks to the heat pump effect, this heating will be about 50% cheaper than regular electric radiators or fan heaters. The indoor unit operates quietly, and in the living rooms, it's almost inaudible. I've already removed and cleaned the dust filter myself; it's not difficult and within anyone's capability. With regular use of the air conditioner, the electricity bill has increased significantly. |
