The so-called "Ukrainian" sleeping bags of one well-known brand are very popular with us now (I will not do anti-advertising, whoever knows will understand). But they have a very indirect relation to Ukraine, formally they are simply sold under a trademark registered in Ukraine. But all stages of their design, production and packaging are carried out in China. Miracles do not happen, so their quality directly corresponds to the price. I initially did not look towards models cheaper than $ 65-70, because everything that is cheaper is only suitable for summer weather with a slight capture of late spring and early autumn. But this model of the Czech company Trim is already quite capable of keeping temperatures up to frost, which I actually needed. Features a waterproof and durable nylon outer layer. Passed frost test. The temperature dropped below zero not only in the morning, but also at night, but there was no discomfort. And the insulation here is only two-layer! As you understand, he works "not by number, but by skill." It's all about the special channel microstructure of the polymer material, thanks to which this insulation keeps heat much better than the widespread holofiber. In addition, these fibers are hypoallergenic and do not retain moisture, so this sleeping bag dries quickly. The last moment is especially convenient when washing, one warm summer day is enough and a clean dry sleeping bag is ready for new tests. Weight 1.4 kg, which is more than I would like. It does not have a normal pocket for small things. That is, there is a pocket, but it does not close completely and every little thing falls out of it stupidly. |
The model of the Czech brand Trimm with the prefix 195 is an enlarged version of another cocoon bag — Highlander 185. Their lengths are 230 and 215 cm, with sizes up to 195 and up to 185 cm, respectively. The width is identical, in the legs it is 58 cm, and in the shoulders — 85 cm, which makes the sleeping bag suitable even for stocky and overweight users.
The Trimm Highlander 195 is available in a variety of colours. The buyer can also choose the side on which the zipper is located, including in order to combine two sleeping bags into one more spacious one.
Great hiking option
The cocoon sleeping bag belongs to the trekking direction. It is suitable for cycling and hiking, as it does not weigh much luggage (1.4 kg) and takes up minimal space in it (18x34 cm) when folded into a complete compression bag.
100% readiness for demi-season weather
Trimm Highlander's nylon exterior is highly water resistant. The inside of the sleeping bag is lined with polyester. Between them is a two-layer filler Thermolite Quallo with a density of 200 g/m² with a system of air channels designed to reduce heat loss. For improved thermal insulation, the cocoon is equipped with a conveniently tightened hood and an adjustable thermal collar.
The sleeping bag has been tested according to EN 13537 and is able to provide comfort in temperatures as low as -3°C. At the same time, additional wrapping in clothes is not required, thermal underwear is enough. It is stated that in extreme conditions the model will protect against hypothermia at temperatures up to 20 degrees below zero, but it is not worth checking this in fact.
Pleasant trifles
Double pawl closure with anti-bite protection and heat loss bolster. A light-accumulating loop will help you find the slider in the dark. Of the traditional equipment, it is worth highlighting the presence of a pocket for small things, which, however, does not fasten, and an eyelet for drying a sleeping bag. A nice bonus is the presence of a flashlight keychain in the kit.
