Portrait autofocus lens for cropped and full frame mirrorless systems. The model is offered in versions with Canon RF, Micro 4/3, Nikon Z and Sony E bayonet mounts. Together with full-frame cameras, the lens shoots at a focal length of 85 mm, paired with APS-C cropped mirrorless cameras, the equivalent focal length is about 127.5 mm , and together with the cameras of the Micro 4/3 system - 170 mm.
The portrait aperture mechanism consists of 9 blades and allows you to adjust the relative aperture from f / 1.8 to f / 16. Inside the lens, a quiet and fast STM automatic focusing drive is installed. The Viltrox AF 85mm f/1.8 II is focused from a distance of 80 cm. The optical scheme of the model, which consists of 10 elements in 7 groups, uses one lens with extra-low dispersion (ELD) and four short-wavelength elements with a high degree of transparency (SWLHT). The calling of special lenses is to improve image quality and effectively remove aberrations. For the lens, filters with a diameter of 72 mm are suitable. And the design of the model provides a microUSB port for updating the firmware. The dimensions of the portrait are 80x92 mm, its weight is slightly less than half a kilogram.

On my X-T3 it looks even more solid, especially with the lens hood. Before speaking, the lens hood is so-so, it’s plastic and has some play on the lens. Then I’ll leave it at home. But in general, there is no power to the core of the lens. Some traces of alcohol appeared on the front lens, but on the open diaphragm it was empty.
As long as the pictures are missing, there is nothing special about my taste. Mav on Canon 85/1.2 II is also equal to this. There are some purple chromatics, the sharpness is normal throughout the entire frame, the bokeh is nothing special, the background in the chest portrait is in oil, take it from the opposite side of the smudge tanks.
Autofocus is a little more advanced, but it’s also rich and important, so it’s not normal, it’s not a reportage lens.
