Portrait autofocus lens for cropped and full frame mirrorless systems. The model is offered in versions with Canon RF, Micro 4/3, Nikon Z and Sony E bayonet mounts. Together with full-frame cameras, the lens shoots at a focal length of 85 mm, paired with APS-C cropped mirrorless cameras, the equivalent focal length is about 127.5 mm , and together with the cameras of the Micro 4/3 system - 170 mm.

The portrait aperture mechanism consists of 9 blades and allows you to adjust the relative aperture from f / 1.8 to f / 16. Inside the lens, a quiet and fast STM automatic focusing drive is installed. The Viltrox AF 85mm f/1.8 II is focused from a distance of 80 cm. The optical scheme of the model, which consists of 10 elements in 7 groups, uses one lens with extra-low dispersion (ELD) and four short-wavelength elements with a high degree of transparency (SWLHT). The calling of special lenses is to improve image quality and effectively remove aberrations. For the lens, filters with a diameter of 72 mm are suitable. I recommend it to food enthusiasts

I have the version for Fuji X, and in this system, the only competitor is the 90mm f2.0, which is significantly more expensive and has slightly less light-gathering ability, so this lens is like a breath of fresh air for the Fuji system. On my X-T3, it looks very solid, especially with the hood. By the way, the hood is just okay; it's plastic and has some play on the lens. So, I leave it at home. Overall, there are no questions about the lens quality. There's a bit of dust on the front lens, but it's insignificant at an open aperture.

As for the image quality, to my taste, there's nothing special. I had the Canon 85/1.2 II, so I have something to compare it with. There is some purple chromatic aberration, sharpness is decent across the field, bokeh is nothing special; it blurs the background to butter-like smoothness on a bust portrait, even if you're shooting in front of trash bins.

Autofocus is a bit slow, but there's a lot of glass, and it's heavy, so it's normal; this is not a reportage lens.
