— octave transfer will allow you to shift the piano sound down or up by a certain number of octaves (one or more) — for example, so that the keys of the first octave sound the notes of the second, or vice versa, of a small octave. One of the most popular ways to use this feature is to extend the range, playing notes not originally covered by the keys. This feature can be useful not only on reduced, but even on full-size 88-key instruments — for example, when splitting the keyboard (see the relevant paragraph), when only part of the keyboard is used for each timbre.Also, octave shift can be used similarly to transposition (see the relevant paragraph) — to play an “increased” or “lowered” melody on the same part of the keyboard. However, such a need rarely arises.
