Obstacle sensor

— a sensor (or sensor system) capable of detecting obstacles in the path of the vacuum cleaner.

The specific principle of operation of such sensors may be different. However, they have a positive effect on both the efficiency of cleaning and the safety of items in the room. So, a robot vacuum cleaner without an obstacle sensor, having stumbled upon an obstacle, will first try to pass through it, and only in case of obvious failure will change the direction of movement. And a device with such a sensor will pre-determine the obstacle, or even the specific shape of the obstacle in its path, and adjust the trajectory of movement accordingly.
