Extravaganza of light: five LED table lamps
We independently test the products and technologies that we recommend.

A comparison of the parameters included in the selection of models is given in the summary

The democratic cost of the FunDesk LC1 lamp in no way affected the level of its functionality — in terms of the richness of functions in its arsenal, the model is ready to compete with more eminent "classmates" from the kind of desktop lighting equipment.
To begin with, the lamp is equipped with a small digital display to display data on the current values of time, date and temperature in the room. The screen is built right into the foot of the device, and several mechanical keys are provided for its configuration. The only regret is the fact that the backlight of the display is not switched off, which is why it stands out vividly against the background of other objects in the room at night.
The touch-sensitive light control panel provides the possibility of flexible adjustment of illumination parameters. The user can choose between three colour temperature options (2800-3300 K, 4000-4500 K and 5000-5500 K), as well as five brightness levels for each of the above modes. A light switch is placed on a separate touch button.
The lamp leg, which tilts within 180°, can also boast of special flexibility. Care must be taken with it, since plastic predominates in the materials of the model. The supply of the life-giving power of electricity to the lamp is organized through a 5V/1A power supply, therefore, not only an outlet, but also external devices with USB ports of appropriate power (laptops, portable batteries, etc.) claim to be an energy source.

An elegant table lamp in an aluminium "suit" is built on the basis of LEDs that illuminate the surrounding space with cold white light with a colour temperature of 6500 K.
The required light scattering angle is set by tilting the leg and turning the "head" of the lamp. They are connected to each other and the lower part of the housing by hinges. You can adjust the light to your own needs not only by choosing its direction, but also by means of a four—level adjustment of the intensity of illumination — from dim light to really bright.
To control the lamp, you will need to use only one finger — changing the brightness of the light, as well as turning on and off the lighting device is carried out by touching the touch panel. In addition, you need to praise the low level of power consumption, which is only 5 watts. This will significantly save on electricity bills.
With the apparent lightness of the design, the lamp has a considerable, as for its class, weight — 1.5 kg. However, such a performance makes it more stable. The model is presented on the market in silver and gold body colours, as a result of which it will decorate with its presence both strict modern and warm lamp interiors.
The Intelite trademark is part of the American Maxus Corporation, which has earned a name for itself in the production of energy-saving light sources. The products of the Intelite line combine the most advanced developments in the industry, which is once again confirmed by a close acquaintance with the DL5-8W table lamp.
The model impresses with its originality — the materials of its body successfully combine elements of wood and organic glass. The lamp stand is entirely made of bamboo, and the curving leg with LEDs at the end is glass, which looks at least very unusual. A touch panel is built directly into the wooden part, with the help of which the brightness level of the glow is adjusted.
Pleasant to the eye white light with a colour temperature of 4100 K is scattered at an angle of about 120 °. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the last digit, because for the sake of an interesting design, it was necessary to sacrifice the possibility of turning and tilting the legs of the lighting device. But the light intensity, as mentioned above, is subject to adjustment: in the maximum brightness mode, the luminous flux corresponds to a value of 500 lm, and at the minimum level, the lamp is excellent for use as a night light.
The power consumed by the lamp is 8 watts, while incandescent lamps of similar light quality consume about 50 watts of power. We are also pleased with the long service life of lighting elements — the manufacturer Intelite DL5-8W claims a resource of LEDs in 50K hours. As a result, we are presented with an expressive and functional lighting device that will take its rightful place on the table of its owner and emphasize the modern style of the home or office with its design.

The Xiaomi Philips Eyecare Smart Lamp 2 table lamp model was developed by the ambitious Chinese company Xiaomi together with the Dutch brand Philips, which is reflected in the name of the lighting device.
The lamp's execution style resembles an elegant swan's neck, which curves smoothly at a variety of angles. The neck of the model can be straightened, turned inside out or twisted along its own axis, creating lighting scenarios for many situations. At the same time, the lamp leg looks like a single whole and has a pleasant texture to the touch.
The main light at maximum brightness produces a luminous flux with a power of 1200 lm (at a distance of about 40 cm). It is possible to adjust the intensity of illumination both manually and automatically, for which the lamp design provides for the presence of a light sensor. Manual adjustment of parameters, in turn, is carried out either by pressing a finger on the touch control panel, or from a smartphone with a pre-installed Mi Home application.
The lamp is paired with mobile gadgets via Wi-Fi, which allows you to remotely control the lamp from any corner of the globe where there is Internet access. The functionality of the linked programme includes support for brightness adjustment, switching the lamp on and off (including on a schedule) and creating lighting scenarios. That's just that hieroglyphs periodically slip through the application interface, which is typical of the vast majority of Xiaomi products.
An additional LED panel consisting of 10 LEDs is built into the base of the lamp leg to illuminate the area behind the lighting device. One of the ways to use it is to use a lamp as a night light, for which you will need to dim the brightness of the glow to a minimum level. With such advanced characteristics of Xiaomi Philips Eyecare Smart Lamp 2, you can safely assign the laurels of a leader among table lamps, which sets the pace of development of the entire lighting industry.

The Philips LivingColors Iris device fits the role of a classic lamp with a significant stretch, because the main task of this smart lamp is to create a mood in the room by highlighting its walls with any colours from the 16 million colour palette.
The lamp in the form of a transparent hemisphere is installed on a flat surface so that its beveled face looks at the wall. The main light comes from the flat part of the lamp, and the rest of the plane of the ball gently scatters it. You can manually choose the colour of the lamp glow to match your own mood, and the user can also use the auto colour change mode. All actions for setting up the lamp are carried out using the remote control.
A spectral palette is applied to the surface of the round console, and from the controls on its "body" there is a colour selection ring and a pair of quick access buttons to selected shades. The remote control is powered by two "finger" batteries, while the lamp itself is powered by a 230 V mains. Moreover, the power cord is firmly connected to the lamp.
Together with a smart lamp in the room, you can create an atmosphere for every taste — from festive to intimate with muted colours. And by lowering the brightness value to a minimum level, the lamp transforms into a night light. And even if the device is not very suitable for reading or highlighting the work area, there are practically no equals in the role of the creator of a special atmosphere.
