Household multi-split systems

Samsung uses different labeling for different directions of air conditioners. Below we will consider the household series of the European line of air conditioners.

1. Type of household air conditioner:

  • AR — ordinary wall, from the English Room Airconditioner;
  • AF — outdoor, from the English Floor Airconditioner;
  • AW — window air conditioner, from the English Window Airconditioner.

2. Nominal productivity in thousand BTU, 09 = 9000 BTU, 12 = 12000 BTU and so on.

3. The letter in this place means the model year, but not the year of production, many models of previous years may appear on the market:

  • E — 2012;
  • F — 2013;
  • H — 2014;
  • J — 2015;
  • K — 2016;
  • M — 2017;
  • N — 2018;
  • R — 2019;
  • T — 2020;
  • A — 2021.

4. Mode of operation of the air conditioner, type of compressor and refrigerant:

  • C — cooling, without inverter, R22;
  • P — cooling+heating, without inverter R22;
  • R — cooling, without inverter, R410A;
  • Q — cooling+heating, without inverter, R410A;
  • V — cooling, inverter, R410A;
  • S — cooling+heating, inverter R410A;
  • X — cooling+heating, inverter, R32.

5. This letter hides one of the technologies used in the air conditioner. Since there are quite a lot of them and new ones appear, we will list some of them:

  • S — Virus Doctor (ionizer);
  • F — without Virus Doctor technology;
  • P — Wi-Fi + Virus Doctor;
  • W — Wi-Fi;
  • H — protection against drafts.

6. The market segment, or we can say the device class, D, F, N, S, P, Z, Q, X and others.

7. Version or modification of the model, there may be different designations, mainly A and B. It should be assumed that these are the first and second modifications.

8. The colour of the indoor unit. Usually, these are shades of white:

  • WK — twilight white (the most popular shade);
  • UR — white with blue;
  • GM — white with a touch of grey;
  • VQ — snow white.

9. The configuration, here after changes in the type of marking for different regions, everything turned out to be ambiguous:

  • N — previously only the indoor unit was designated, for modern models it is a kit;
  • X — External unit;
  • /AF, /RS/, TK — this designation is used for multi-split systems and indicates a complete set with an indoor unit.

10. The delivery region is mainly Europe:

  • EU, ET, ER — Europe, ER should be sold in Russia, but in fact went beyond its borders;
  • UA — Ukraine.

Semi-industrial models

For semi-industrial models, the marking has a difference. Consider the example of a channel indoor unit.

1. Designation of the semi-industrial series:

  • AM — Samsung CAC systems indoor units semi-industrial unit;
  • AC — semi-industrial series Commercial Air Conditioners, kit.

2. Nominal productivity in thousand BTU, 026 = 26000 BTU, 035 = 35000 BTU and so on.

3. Model year, similar to household systems.

4. Equipment:

  • B — internal and external unit;
  • N — indoor unit;
  • M is an external unit.

5. Type of indoor unit:

  • 1 — cassette, 1 output;
  • N — cassette mini, 4 outlet holes;
  • L — narrow channel block;
  • M — channel block;
  • C — floor/ceiling;
  • J — floor (console).

6. Segment:

  • F — Flagship;
  • P — premium (Premium);
  • D — Luxury (Deluxe);
  • S — standard (Standard).

7. Type of power supply:

  • E, K — 220-240V;
  • G — 380-415V.

8. H — the ability to work for heating (Heat Pump).

9. The region of delivery, or in other words, the market for which the model is intended.
